Software Developer - Aircraft Performance Tools, Airbus Operations, Getafe (Madrid). This role is part of the Airbus Flight Physics Capability Operations team (1GZC) and focuses on developing On‑Board Aircraft Performance tools that generate, control, and deliver performance databases embedded in avionics functions such as the Flight Management System across all Airbus families. The position also involves simulation tools that emulate these embedded functions and close collaboration with local end‑users and with Airbus Defence & Space, especially for the A400M program. Responsibilities • Capture, understand, and translate internal end‑user needs into software specifications and user stories., • Implement required software modifications in collaboration with an experienced subcontracting software development team., • Perform software verification testing and define robust acceptance criteria., • Support end‑users by investigating and resolving identified problems in a timely manner., • Manage administrative and project tasks associated with the software tools portfolio, including subcontracting activities., • Continuously learn and improve the tool landscape by understanding business processes across Flight Physics, especially Aircraft Performance. Skills & Qualifications • Education: Aeronautical, Industrial, Software Engineering degree or a related discipline., • Technical knowledge: Strong software development skills and solid knowledge of Linux environments and DevOps/CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc.)., • Soft skills: High adaptability, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity and a "can‑do" attitude for effective interaction with local & transnational teams, subcontractors, and customers., • Languages: Advanced level in English (essential)., • Valuable / Nice to have:, • Experience with the application of DO‑200 Standards (Processing Aeronautical Data)., • Experience or knowledge in Python, C/C++, Java, Matlab, Simulink & Fortran (all part of our tool portfolio)., • General knowledge of Flight Physics, Aircraft Performance, or Airline Operations.
