Fast-growing FMCG company specialized in the sourcing, warehousing, and distribution of consumer goods across multiple markets. The business operates with a centralized logistics structure and international scope, ensuring efficient and scalable supply chain operations. Role Overview The Director of Operations will be responsible for the end-to-end operational strategy and execution, covering procurement, warehouse management, logistics, transportation, and quality control. The position requires strong expertise in logistics, stock management, and planning, combined with proven leadership capabilities managing large teams in multi-shift operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Operations & Supply Chain Leadership Define and execute the operational strategy aligned with business growth objectives. Oversee the full supply chain: sourcing, inbound logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and outbound distribution. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize costs, service levels, and operational efficiency. 2. Logistics & Warehouse Management Lead warehouse operations (2 shifts), ensuring productivity, safety, and service excellence. Optimize stock management, inventory accuracy, and demand planning processes. Implement best-in-class warehouse practices (layout, automation, KPIs, WMS optimization). 3. Transportation & 3PL Management Manage relationships and negotiations with transport providers and 3PL partners. Ensure cost-effective and reliable distribution across markets. Monitor and improve delivery performance (lead times, service levels, cost per shipment). 4. Procurement & Planning Oversee procurement processes and supplier management. Ensure accurate demand forecasting and supply planning. Balance stock availability with working capital optimization. 5. Quality & Customer Experience Ensure quality standards across the supply chain. Collaborate with customer service and commercial teams to enhance delivery experience. Drive initiatives to reduce returns, damages, and operational errors. 6. Team Leadership & Organizational Development Lead, develop, and structure a team of ~100 employees across operations functions. Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Ensure effective coordination across shifts and departments. 7. International Operations Support expansion into new markets and scaling of logistics capabilities internationally. Adapt operational processes to different regulatory and market environments. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Organization Engineering. Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field. 10+ years of experience in operations/supply chain roles. with a strong background in logistics, warehouse management, and inventory planning. Proven experience in distribution, retail, or consumer goods sectors. Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS). Experience managing large operational teams. Fluent English. Leadership & Soft Skills Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Hands-on, pragmatic, and results-oriented approach. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
