Company Description: Aistech Space is focused on generating affordable, recurrent, high resolution thermal imagery of the planet to provide a new perspective of Earth’s changing resources. The company is based in Barcelona and aims to revolutionize remote sensing for environmental monitoring and resource management. What you will do: Aistech Space is looking for an entry-level Satellite HW Electronics Engineer to be part of the Space Infrastructure Team designing, analysing, integrating and testing new electronic subsystems for the new satellites of our constellation as well as developing the highest-tech payloads electronics and ground hw support equipment for testing. This new position offers the opportunity to rotate through each development engineering phase: design and analysis, integration and testing of all our Hardware (HW) projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing hardware procurement and documentation, and coordinating internal resources to produce flight-qualified hardware for our space projects. The main responsibility for this job position is working closely with your HW electronics peers to deliver the next generation of payload electronics such as daughterboards, sensor boards, proximity sensor boards, cable development kits, automatic test benches, in order to deliver the payloads to each satellite mission. You will also be responsible to follow internal standards and good practices in terms of project management, documentation and time management following an agile approach in your daily work and ensuring the team is also doing it. The key objectives to be achieved are: Understand Aistech Space mission objectives. Work closely with the space infrastructure development team. Design and development of high-density electronic circuits, from initial requirements and schematic design to complex multi-layer PCB layout. Collaborate across teams to integrate payloads into the satellite platform, managing power budgets, high-speed data buses (SoC/FPGA), mechanical interfaces and technical risk analysis. Design, build, and maintain advanced electronic test benches to validate payloads and full satellite systems against LEO environment requirements. Provide low-level technical guidance to interdisciplinary teams (Optics, Firmware, Systems) and research emerging technologies to keep our space infrastructure at the cutting edge. Work with partners and suppliers to evaluate technical proposals, ensuring they align with our mission objectives and quality standards. Define rigorous testing procedures, maintain BOMs, and contribute to the company’s internal technical specifications. Who you are: Must: BSc/MSc degree in Electronics Engineering or a relevant field. Open-minded, proactive learner, and receptive to criticism. Strong proficiency in end-to-end Hardware Design—from schematic capture to complex multi-layer PCB layout. Proven track record in DC/DC converter design and Power Distribution Networks (PDN) for sensitive electronics. Proficiency with standard interfaces and protocols (CAN, I2C, RS422/485, GNSS, etc.) Experience in the design with digital and analog components (SoC, MCU, FPGA, ADC, DAC, etc.). Experience in electrical analysis, functional testing at the system level, and laboratory debugging (soldering, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, …). Proven experience designing for high-reliability environments, with specific focus on mechanical robustness against launch vibrations/shocks and thermal management for extreme temperature cycling in vacuum conditions. Knowledge of Agile methodologies. Fluent in English. Nice to have: Advanced knowledge of High-Speed Design (DDR3/DDR4 memory routing, LVDS, Ethernet, PCIe…), including impedance control and signal integrity. Experience in electronics harnessing and complex system assembly. Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance, ideally following ECSS, MIL-STD or similar high-reliability standards. Ability to navigate low-level C code or VHDL to support cross-departmental debugging, ensuring hardware designs align perfectly with embedded software and FPGA requirements.
