The Faculty of Law, Business, and Government at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria invites applications for the position of Director of two interdisciplinary bachelor's degree programs: • Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, Politics, Law and Economics (PPLE) - fully taught in English • Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (FPE) - taught in Spanish. Position Responsibilities: Academic Leadership: • Provide strategic academic leadership for both the PPLE and FPE programs. • Develop and implement the academic vision and strategic direction of both programs. • Ensure both programs' alignment with UFV's educational model and mission. • Foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration among faculty in Philosophy, Politics, Law, and Economics. • Lead curriculum development and enhancement initiatives. • Promote the programs' visibility nationally and internationally. • Develop and maintain international academic partnerships. • Represent the programs in institutional and external academic forums. Administrative and Management Responsibilities: • Manage daily operations of both degree programs, including scheduling, resource allocation, and administrative coordination. • Plan and coordinate academic schedules and teaching assignments for both programs. • Lead and coordinate the faculty team (full-time and part-time professors) across both programs. • Conduct regular meetings with faculty to ensure coordination and quality standards. • Participate in quality assurance committees, program verification, and follow-up processes. • Oversee student admissions processes and student recruitment strategies. • Manage program budgets and resource allocation. • Address student concerns and provide academic advising support. • Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external evaluations. • Coordinate with other Faculty departments and university administration. Faculty Development and Student Mentoring: • Recruit, hire, and onboard new faculty members. • Conduct faculty evaluations and provide developmental feedback. • Support faculty professional development and research initiatives. • Supervise bachelor's, master's, and doctoral theses. • Mentor students in their intellectual and personal development. Teaching and Research: • Engage in teaching activities with a teaching load of 18 ECTS annually , distributed between foundational and advanced courses according to program needs and the Director's area of expertise. • Participate as a member of the doctoral program faculty. • Maintain an active research agenda aligned with the programs' mission. • Contribute to the intellectual tradition of Christian humanism in higher education. Essential Requirements: Academic Background: • PhD in Political Science, Philosophy, Economics, Law, or a related interdisciplinary field. • At least 8-10 years of combined teaching and research experience post-PhD, with a publication record that meets the requirements for Associate Professor level (Profesor Titular) in the Spanish accreditation system (ANECA). • Evidence of interdisciplinary work across at least two of the following fields: Philosophy, Politics, Law, Economics. Leadership and Management Experience: • Proven experience in academic leadership roles (program coordination, department chair, or similar positions). • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage academic teams. • Strong organizational and administrative skills. • Experience managing multiple priorities and competing demands. Highly Valued Qualifications: Advanced Academic Profile: • 12+ years of research experience with active research engagement. • Publications in peer-reviewed journals indexed in JCR/Scopus. • Authorship of monographs or edited volumes. • Experience directing doctoral dissertations. • Leadership or participation in competitive research projects. • Research or publications explicitly addressing the notion of the common good. Multidisciplinary Expertise: • Advanced knowledge in Economics (beyond basic literacy). • Advanced knowledge in Law (beyond basic literacy). • Solid philosophical training and familiarity with political philosophy. • Teaching experience across multiple disciplines within the PPLE/FPE framework. International Experience: • International academic experience or research stays at prestigious universities. • Active network of international academic contacts. • Memberships in international professional associations. • Experience managing bilingual or multilingual academic programs. Program Development and Innovation: • Experience building or significantly developing academic programs. • Track record of attracting and mentoring talented students. • Familiarity with educational innovation projects. • Experience with liberal arts education models. • Success in organizing academic events, conferences, or seminars. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines. • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish. Language Requirements: • High proficiency in English (C2 level or equivalent), evidenced by publications and teaching experience in English-speaking contexts, as the PPLE program is fully taught in English. • High proficiency in Spanish (C1 level minimum) for directing the FPE program and managing administrative duties in a Spanish-speaking institution. Start Date: September 2026 (academic year 2026-2027).
