As Director, Local Original Productions, you will lead the creative and strategic direction of local content across Iberia, shaping a high‑quality, culturally relevant production slate that drives audience engagement and long‑term business growth. This role sits at the heart of WBD’s content strategy, combining creative leadership, operational oversight and commercial insight to deliver premium storytelling that aligns with both regional priorities and global objectives. Key Responsibilities • Define and execute the local original production strategy across Iberia, building a high‑performing slate across scripted, unscripted and factual genres., • Identify, evaluate and secure high‑potential projects, managing them through development to delivery with a strong focus on quality and market fit., • Lead and inspire cross‑functional teams, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture across creative, production and programming functions., • Partner closely with marketing, PR and communications teams to maximise audience impact and strengthen brand positioning through local storytelling., • Oversee budgets, forecasting and financial planning, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and strong cost management across productions., • Build and maintain strong relationships with creative talent, production companies and industry partners, acting as a key ambassador for the business., • Navigate complex stakeholder environments, ensuring alignment across regional and global teams while driving strategic decision‑making. Qualifications & Experience • Extensive experience in content development, production, programming or media leadership, with a strong track record of delivering successful content portfolios., • Deep understanding of the Spanish and Iberian media landscape, including audience behaviour, streaming trends and competitive dynamics., • Proven leadership experience within complex, matrixed organisations, with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills., • Strong creative and editorial judgement, combined with commercial and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities., • Fluency in Spanish and English, with the ability to operate effectively in an international environment.
