ph3Descripción Del Puesto /h3 h3¿Qué harás? ¡Deja tu huella! /h3 pThe Marine Scientist plays a key role in offshore survey operations, collecting, processing, and analyzing subsea data using geophysical and geotechnical technologies. The role is responsible for ensuring data quality, compliance with client requirements and industry standards, and supporting accurate data processing and interpretation. Reporting to the Head of Operations and, when offshore, to the Party Chief, the Marine Scientist may undertake a variety of project roles, including Party Chief for suitably experienced personnel. /p h3The Marine Scientist Conducts Surveys Using Specialized Equipment, Including /h3 ul liGeophysical: Multibeam and Single-Beam Echosounders (MBES/SBES), Side Scan Sonar (SSS), Sub-Bottom Profiler (SBP), Ultra High-Resolution Seismic (UHRS), Magnetometer (MAG), and similar systems. /li liGeotechnical: Cone Penetration Test (CPT), Vibrocorer (VC), Piston Corer (PC), Gravity Corer (GC), and related equipment. /li /ul pThe successful candidate has experience with multiple geophysical and/or geotechnical systems and demonstrates a willingness to expand their technical expertise. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liPerform offshore and onshore survey activities in roles such as Surveyor, Geophysicist, Geologist, Marine Geologist, Geotechnical Expert, Data Processor, GIS/Charting Technician, MMO, PAM, FLO, ROTV Pilot, Offshore Processor, Data Coordinator, or similar. /li liComply with all health, safety, environmental, quality, and industry requirements, including the 7 Rules That Save Lives. /li liMobilize, calibrate, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot survey equipment and associated software. /li liAcquire, monitor, process, interpret, and quality‑control bathymetric, geophysical, geotechnical, seismic, and navigation data. /li liCollect accurate information on seabed conditions, water depth, and underwater obstructions. /li liConfigure and test acquisition and processing systems to ensure reliable operation. /li liLead or supervise equipment deployment and recovery activities. /li liConduct cross-validation checks and identify data anomalies, artifacts, noise, and errors. /li liGenerate and interpret survey deliverables, including bathymetric charts, digital terrain models (DTMs), seabed feature assessments, and hazard identification. /li liPrepare and maintain survey documentation, procedures, quality records, reports, and equipment configuration logs in compliance with project and industry standards. /li liSupport survey preparation, reporting, and online survey system configuration in collaboration with the Survey Manager and Data Coordinator. /li liWork closely with offshore and onshore teams to ensure data quality and project objectives are achieved. /li liMaintain operational traceability and complete all required project templates and records. /li liReport operational, safety, health, environmental, quality, or technical non‑conformities through established channels. /li liComply with Tradebe's Responsibilities and Authorities Guideline, including the roles of All Workers/Todos los Trabajadores and Preventive Resource/Recurso Preventivo. /li liKeep equipment tracking systems updated and support effective asset management. /li liParticipate in required training and continuous professional development. /li liStay current with advancements in hydrographic surveying technologies and techniques. /li liPerform other duties as assigned by management. /li /ul h3¿Tienes lo que se necesita? /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Marine Geomatics, Oceanography, Geophysics, or a related field. /li li3 years of experience in geophysical and/or geotechnical surveying in offshore environments or related fields or experience. /li liUtilize and maintain specialized data acquisition software and tools, such as QINSy, Qimera, NaviSuite, CARIS, QPS, HYPACK, SonarWiz, autoCAD/autoCHART or GIS applications. /li liEnglish mandatory (100%). Spanish desired. Catalan desired. Other European language is a plus. /li liCapability to work in challenging offshore environments, including confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions. /li liMust be available for flexible scheduling during the acquisition phase, including extended hours and weekends, to accommodate operational demands and ensure uninterrupted data collection. /li liStrong problem‑solving skills. /li liAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team. /li liKnowledge of hydrographic survey principles, geophysical and geotechnical methods. /li liAbility to work offshore, involving extended periods on vessels. Relevant certifications such as Hydrographic Surveyor Certification or industry‑specific training (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
