About us
Maison Gigi is a French family bakery that serves pâtisserie, artisan coffee, breakfast and lunch. Freshly baked every day in-house. Maison Gigi brings tarts and regional sweet and savoury specialities from France. It’s an open-kitchen concept and this family-run business also offer events catering.
Summary of the role:

  • Assisting and taking instructions from the Chef de Partie
  • Accurately measuring all meal ingredients
  • Washing, peeling and chopping vegetables and fruits
  • Cutting and seasoning different meats
  • Preparing basic dishes such as salads and sauces
  • Keeping a track of the inventory supplies
  • Ensuring that the food items are stocked properly in refrigerators and freezers
  • Maintaining proper hygiene standards and ensuring that the workstation remains clean at all times
  • Accepting deliveries of food items and maintaining a stock record of the same


    Requirements
  • Complete knowledge of the industry’s best practices, hygiene, and safety standards
  • Familiarity with various food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Excellent hygiene standards
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • A team player as well as able to work independently
