Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for clients through personalised care and support. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills within the healthcare sector. Experience in senior care, dementia care, hospice care, or childcare is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
Support individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia-related needs through specialised behaviour management techniques.
Administer medication accurately following prescribed instructions and maintain detailed records.
Assist with meal preparation, ensuring dietary requirements are met and promoting healthy eating habits.
Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a caring and respectful environment.
Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring safety at all times.
Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, maintaining safe driving practices.
Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when needed.
Maintain a clean and organised environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is preferred.
Knowledge of patient care techniques, including medication administration and behaviour management strategies.
Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's support, hospice care, and general senior care is advantageous.
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients safely.
First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience when working with vulnerable individuals.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs as required.
