We are looking for a friendly and reliable Customer Service Assistant (work from home) to help us handle telephone enquiries and provide support to people and businesses contacting our team. This is not a sales role. Our Head Office will normally receive the first call and collect the caller’s basic details. Where somebody needs further help, the call may be transferred to you or you may be asked to call them back. You may speak with businesses that have received information from us following one of our field observations or reviews. They may want clarification, provide additional information, ask how our process works, or occasionally disagree with an observation. Your role is to listen, remain professional and neutral, answer straightforward questions and make sure anything more complex is passed to the appropriate Team Leader. What you’ll do: • Answer or return customer and business calls, • Respond to general questions about True Observer and our services, • Explain basic information about our review and observation process, • Take accurate notes, contact details and reference numbers, • Record relevant information provided by callers, • Identify what the caller needs and direct the enquiry to the correct person, • Arrange follow-up where necessary, • Follow our customer service, privacy and call-handling procedures You won’t be expected to know the answer to everything. We will provide guidance for common enquiries and clear instructions on when something should simply be recorded and escalated. We’re looking for someone who is calm and confident on the phone, polite, organised and good at taking accurate notes. Some conversations may involve complaints or sensitive topics, so being able to listen carefully and remain professional is important. The position is designed to be flexible and can fit around studies, another job or other commitments. Call volume is currently relatively low and availability will be agreed in advance, but we expect the role to grow as we expands its field operations. Full training is provided free of charge before you begin handling detailed enquiries, including privacy/GDPR awareness and an introduction to how our field operations and review process work.
