About Duende Lab Duende Lab is a London-based creative workshop studio delivering design-led experiences across a range of artistic and craft disciplines. We work across both consumer and corporate experiences, hosting workshops for individuals, private groups, children, and international brands. Our team has delivered experiences and activations for companies and organisations including Cathay Pacific, Michael Kors, TK Maxx, Spotify, and other global brands. Workshops take place both within our London studio and at external venues, events, and brand activations. We are currently looking to expand our network of freelance Creative Workshop Hosts & Instructors who can support selected workshops and events on a flexible engagement basis. Key Responsibilities Depending on the engagement, contractors may be asked to: • Facilitate and host creative workshops listed on the company’s website, • Create a welcoming and engaging experience for attendees, • Assist with workshop preparation, setup, and breakdown, • Support stock handling and material preparation where required, • Use the company’s inventory and workshop management systems during engagements, • Maintain studio organisation and cleanliness during sessions, • Support external events, private bookings, and brand activations when required, • Deliver a professional standard of customer experience throughout workshops Requirements Applicants should demonstrate: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, • Confidence when speaking to and guiding groups, • Fluency in spoken English, • Reliability and professionalism, • Good organisational skills and attention to detail, • Ability to work independently and adapt to different workshop environments, • Right to work in the United Kingdom Previous workshop, hospitality, events, retail, or customer-facing experience is beneficial but not essential. Engagement Structure This is a flexible freelance contractor opportunity operating on an engagement-by-engagement basis. • Engagement availability varies depending on workshop demand and operational requirements, • Contractors may indicate their general availability, however there is no obligation for the company to offer a minimum number of engagements, • Contractors are free to accept or decline engagement offers, • Engagements may include weekday, evening, and weekend sessions depending on workshop scheduling Compensation • Standard compensation begins from £13.00 per hour equivalent, depending on engagement type and responsibilities, • Compensation is agreed per engagement and paid against submitted invoices, • Payments are processed monthly upon receipt of invoice, • Rates may be reviewed periodically based on experience, performance, and operational requirements Freelance Contractor Arrangement This opportunity is offered on a self-employed freelance contractor basis. • This is not a salaried employment position, • Contractors are responsible for their own tax and self-assessment obligations where applicable, • Contractors submit invoices directly to the company for completed engagements Candidates based in London or with practical commuting access to the studio location may be prioritised due to the flexible nature of workshop scheduling.
