This role is a core pillar of consistency and craft within the BAO kitchen. As Chef de Partie, you run your section with care and precision. You deliver consistent food, keep your station organised, and work as part of a close team, supporting Commis chefs and taking direction from your Senior CDP, Sous Chef and Head Chef. You bring calmness, discipline and kindness to the kitchen, especially when service is busy. You play a key role in protecting BAO's flavours, textures, recipes and high standards, and you are building the skills and habits to grow into a Senior Chef de Partie. 🔹 Purpose of the Role To take responsibility for a section and run it with structure, care and consistency. You'll prepare and cook to BAO's specs during prep and service, support Commis chefs on your section, and help the kitchen maintain its standards through clear communication and good organisation. 🔪 Section & Service • Run your section across prep, service and close-down., • Learn and maintain strong knowledge of BAO's recipes, specs, techniques and flavour profiles., • Cook and plate with precision, pace and consistency., • Keep an eye on timing and quality so your section keeps up with service., • Work closely with other sections so the pass flows as one team., • Flag issues early, such as low counts, delays or equipment problems, to your Senior CDP or Sous Chef., • Support other sections when asked. 🍱 Prep, Organisation & Standards • Complete your mise en place to a high standard: accurate, clean and on time., • Keep a tidy, efficient and well-structured workstation., • Plan your prep ahead and check in with your Senior CDP or Sous Chef on priorities., • Label, store and rotate stock correctly., • Follow food safety, hygiene, allergen and cleaning procedures to BAO standards., • Help keep waste low by prepping accurately. 🧑🤝🧑 Teamwork & Culture • Support Commis chefs on your section with respect, clarity and patience., • Share techniques and good habits with those still learning., • Stay calm under pressure and help keep a positive tone in the kitchen., • Treat teammates with kindness and fairness, especially during busy service., • Take part in briefings, tastings and training with a growth mindset., • Live BAO's values through your conduct, teamwork and daily discipline. 🧭 Personal Conduct • Be steady, respectful, organised and consistent., • Take feedback openly and use it to develop your craft., • Be punctual, reliable and someone the team can depend on., • Take pride in your section and in representing BAO's standards.
