A family are looking for reliable and trustworthy PA’s to look after their children with learning difficulties and epilepsy. This role is to help the young people access the community and participate in activities such as bowling, swimming, cycling, parks, farms and exercise classes.
Once the family are comfortable and confident in their PA’s, they are happy for them to take the clients to their own home to do activities such as baking, playing games etc.
The Role
- Support the clients to access the community and engage in exercise
- Support clients with personal care needs when required such as toileting, feeding/drinking and upkeep of personal hygiene
- Occasionally administer medication when required
- Occasionally support the family with taking the clients to appointments
- Provide respite to the family
Essential requirements
- Have a genuine want to provide care and improve others quality of life
- A compassionate nature
- Speak to the clients appropriately - use child friendly language but address them like the adults they are
- Make activities fun and engaging for the clients - have a good sense of humour!
- Have respect for other cultures and religions
Desirable
- Previous experience with Learning Difficulties
- Previous experience with Epilepsy
- Be Epilepsy trained
