Chef / Kitchen All-Rounder – Victoria Park Papi’s Munchies We’re a fast-growing, award-winning pizza business (Top 50 Pizzerias in Europe, two years running) looking for a passionate and versatile Pizza Chef / Kitchen All-Rounder to join our team. This is a hybrid, multitasking role — alongside cooking, you’ll be taking counter orders and managing Deliveroo, so we need someone who thrives on variety and pace. Duties • Prepare and cook our sourdough pizzas according to our recipes and quality standards, • Assist with food prep for other menu items, ensuring consistency and presentation, • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in line with health and safety regulations, • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, • Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety protocols at all times, • Take counter orders and manage Deliveroo orders alongside kitchen service, • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and utensils, • Contribute to team efforts to uphold high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction Skills • Previous pizza or kitchen experience essential, • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods, • Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene best practices, • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy kitchen setting, • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team, • Experience taking orders or serving customers is advantageous but not essential, • A positive, hands-on attitude with a passion for quality food and great service PayStarting from £28,000 per year (£13.50/hour), plus tronc. Tanakatsu is an original Japanese Katsu restaurant based in Angel Islington and has been running for last 8 years. Currently we are recruiting roll as CDP who has a minimum of 2 years experience in similar position As a CDP you are expected to help chefs peeper and serve food (not necessary to have experience in Japanese cuisine) be able to comunícate to with rest of kitchen members and work closely with head chef/owner to keep up both good standards. The successful candidate will have proven experience working on a high-volume grill section, with particular confidence using a charcoal grill and cooking premium meat and fish to a consistently high standard. Key responsibilities • Run and maintain the grill section confidently during busy services., • Cook steaks, meat, fish and other grilled dishes accurately to the required temperatures and specifications., • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of meat cuts, cooking temperatures and resting techniques., • Manage charcoal, heat zones and grill temperatures effectively throughout service., • Maintain speed, organisation and consistency during high-volume services., • Complete daily mise en place and ensure the section is fully prepared before service., • Maintain high standards of food presentation, quality and portion control., • Follow all food safety, HACCP, allergen and hygiene procedures., • Minimise waste and support effective stock rotation and food-cost control., • Work closely with the Sous Chefs, Head Chef and wider kitchen team., • Keep the section clean, organised and professional at all times. What we are looking for • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie., • Proven charcoal-grill experience is essential., • Experience in a busy, high-volume restaurant kitchen., • A strong understanding of meat cookery and steak temperatures., • The ability to remain organised and perform effectively under pressure., • Reliability, punctuality and professionalism., • Strong communication and teamwork skills., • Passion for quality ingredients and consistent execution., • A positive attitude and willingness to develop within the kitchen team. This position requires genuine grill experience. Candidates with previous charcoal-grill experience will be strongly preferred.
