Craftsperson (Overhead Lines) Location: Eurocentral, Motherwell. Full Time / Permanent Closing Date: 06/04/26 Help us create a better future, quicker Overtime opportunities: Monday - Saturday (8am till midnight) - Time and a Half Monday - Saturday (midnight to 8am) - Double Time Sunday - Double Time (all hours) Overtime is not mandatory. Role Inspect, maintain, repair and construction works on the Transmission Overhead Line network to required policy and standards Ensure compliance with ESQC Regulations and with internal inspection policies and procedures. Undertake programmed, post fault and fault work on the Transmission network to agreed productivity levels. Perform stand-by duties as agreed with the company to allow for the restoration of customer supplies and network discrepancies impacting network security. Carry out all works in accordance with the Land Code of Conduct and positively represent the company when liaising with external customers. Provide excellent customer service, value for money, maximise performance and operational efficiency. Be technically innovative and improve network resilience for customers; and ensure transmission assets meet prescribed capability and performance expectations. Assist in delivery of Plant and Overhead Line Inspection & Maintenance, Capital Work Programmes, Faults and Emergency works on the Transmission System. Responsibility for providing accurate data capture for items including inspections, as-built records and time sheets. Identify issues that need immediate attention and hand over to the correct people for resolution Ensure all site works carried out safely, including supervision of contractors. Assist Line manager for effective job planning including pre-vetting jobs and obtaining materials, vehicles and equipment. What you’ll be doing Sound knowledge of Transmission Plant and Equipment and the Scottish Power Health and Safety processes and procedures. Good understanding of outage and resource planning – combined with a knowledge of materials, equipment and techniques associated with conductor repairs Demonstratable knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques for Overhead line repairs and refurbishment An understanding of principles and techniques for lifting, rigging and slinging Scottish Power, National Grid or other REC’s system authorisations Ability to work at height up to 400ft. Ability to communicate with customers and colleagues.
