You'll be responsible for ensuring the technical quality, reliability and smooth delivery of broadcasts across both in-house and off-site locations. \n Working closely with colleagues, clients and third-party suppliers, you'll support events from planning through to delivery. You'll set up, operate and maintain a range of broadcast and AV equipment, ensuring all technical elements work together seamlessly and that clients receive a professional, high-quality service. \n You'll manage audio, video and streaming workflows during live events, monitor broadcast quality and quickly resolve any technical issues that arise. Whether supporting a small webinar or a large-scale hybrid conference, you'll help ensure every event runs smoothly and delivers an exceptional audience experience. \n A key part of the role is working with a variety of stakeholders. You'll build strong relationships with clients, understanding their requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions. You'll also collaborate with colleagues and external operators to maintain high production standards and ensure successful event delivery. \n You'll also contribute to the continuous improvement of IET Video Services by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment, processes and ways of working, helping us stay at the forefront of broadcast and streaming technology. \n What we hope you can bring to the role \n We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in broadcast engineering, live streaming or live event production who can confidently deliver high-quality broadcasts in fast-paced environments. You'll have experience operating professional AV equipment, including broadcast and robotic cameras, vision mixers, audio systems and streaming platforms, alongside a strong understanding of streaming technologies and protocols. \n You'll be technically minded and solutions-focused, with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively during live events. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop, would be highly advantageous, as would a keen interest in emerging broadcast and AV technologies. \n Just as importantly, you'll be a strong communicator who enjoys working with clients, colleagues and external partners to deliver successful events. You'll bring a proactive approach, a commitment to continuous improvement and the flexibility to travel and work outside normal hours when required to support live productions. \n A little more about the role \n\n • Operate broadcast and AV equipment, including broadcast and PTZ robotic cameras, audio systems, lighting, vision mixers and streaming solutions.\n, • Manage and support virtual event platforms such as Zoom, Teams and Skype TX, including setting assigning IP addresses over different networks for video and control.\n, • Control audio and video feeds, presentation synchronisation and audience interaction elements.\n, • Monitor live streams and broadcast outputs to ensure high-quality delivery.\n, • Diagnose and resolve technical issues relating to equipment, connectivity and event operations.\n, • Deliver the successful setup, testing and operation of live, hybrid and recorded events across in-house and external venues.\n, • Liaise with clients to understand technical and production requirements before and during events.\n, • Provide guidance and support to third-party operators and production partners.\n, • Record and manage event footage, including ISO recordings where required.\n, • Ensure recorded content is securely backed up and stored.\n, • Prepare and edit footage for handover to the wider video production team.\n, • Support the introduction of new technologies, equipment and operational improvements.\n, • Contribute to maintaining high production standards across all IET Video Services activities.\n\n A little more about what we’re looking for \n\n • Proven experience within broadcast engineering, live streaming, live events or AV production.\n, • Strong technical understanding of broadcast, streaming and event production workflows.\n, • Experience operating professional cameras, vision mixers (Vizrt NewTek TriCaster experience preferred), audio systems, lighting rigs and streaming encoders.\n, • Good working knowledge of streaming technologies and protocols, including RTMP, WebRTC, SRT, NDI, TCP/IP, HTTP and FTP, as well as networking and assigning IP addresses.\n, • Experience supporting and managing virtual and hybrid event platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Skype TX.\n, • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop.\n, • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly in live event environments.\n, • Knowledge of current and emerging broadcast, AV and streaming technologies.\n, • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and external suppliers.\n, • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.\n, • A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering high-quality event experiences.\n, • Flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours when supporting live events.\n\n
