Our client is seeking an experienced Precision Machining Training Manager to coordinate and lead the analysis, design, delivery, and evaluation of technical training within a complex engineering environment. The role specialises in precision machining and is responsible for ensuring the development of competent personnel to meet current and future programme requirements. This is a hands-on training role, focused on coaching, mentoring, and developing individuals in practical machining activities rather than purely classroom-based delivery. Key Responsibilities • Provide appropriate supervision of training activities within scope of responsibility, • Lead the delivery of precision machining training programmes within the business area, • Develop structured training and development plans based on detailed training needs analysis, • Deploy a range of training methods to meet identified learning requirements, • Deliver inductions and technical orientation sessions as required, • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, success, and return on investment, • Ensure training interventions are cost-effective and deliver value for money, • Review and audit external training providers to assess effectiveness, • Identify and resolve training-related issues, tailoring programmes as necessary, • Maintain close working relationships with HR and wider business teams to ensure alignment with organisational competence frameworks, • Promote and support safe working practices, • Challenge poor behaviours and role-model company standards, • Demonstrate first-line leadership accountability Essential Skills & Experience • Minimum 2–3 years of competent machining experience (dependent on individual skill level), • Strong hands-on experience in precision machining, • Proficiency in:, • Shop Mill and Shop Turn, • Manual Milling and Turning, • Siemens control interface, • Experience in hand fitting, • Strong health and safety awareness and compliance, • Ability to clearly articulate technical requirements and training needs, • Proven ability to teach, coach, and mentor others, • Confident in challenging unsafe or inappropriate behaviours Desirable Experience • Engineering background within manufacturing or precision engineering environments, • Previous experience delivering training, mentoring, or coaching, • Teaching or training qualification (highly desirable), • Experience within public or private sector engineering/manufacturing organisations Qualifications • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent (essential), • NVQ Level 4 or higher (desirable)
