Overtime potential: Up to £45,000 £50,000 Working hours: 39 hours/week + rate Shift Pattern: MonThurs: 07:30 16:30 Fri: 07:30 12:30 The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experiencedCNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operatorto join ourLarge CNC Turning Cell. Operating within a subcontract machine shop environment, you will work on one-off and small batch production, allowing full use of your technical skillset. Key responsibilities include: • Programming, setting, and operating large CNC lathes, • Machining components (including shafts up to 3.2m in length), • Selecting tooling and proving out programs, • Working from detailed engineering drawings, • Machining a range of materials including various steel grades and exotic alloys We are a long-established, ISO 9001:2015 certified subcontract engineering company based in Merseyside. With roots dating back to the early 20th century, the business has evolved into a trusted supplier to major organisations across sectors including nuclear, defence, oil & gas, fluid handling, and power generation. The company specialises in the manufacture of high-precision components such as drive train parts and valve and pump internals, with particular expertise in large, complex machined components. Essential Requirements: • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), • Proven experience programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes (Fanuc controls preferred), • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems, • Experience machining exotic materials (e.g. duplex, Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel), • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, • Strong planning and organisational skills, • Good communication skills, • Experience with large Doosan CNC lathes (830 chuck sizes, up to 3.2m lengths), • Manual xrnqpay Guide programming, • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g. OneCNC), • C & Y axis machining, • Use of programmable steadies, • Experience manufacturing valve and pump components, • Background in regulated industries (nuclear, defence, oil & gas, etc.), • Competitive hourly rate with strong overtime potential, • Company bonus scheme*, • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (paid at average earnings), • Contributory pension scheme, • Training and development opportunities, • Corporate workwear provided, • Flexible working options**
