We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team, playing a critical role in maintaining and improving the performance of our manufacturing operations. You’ll be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of woodworking, packaging, and painting machinery, helping to maximise reliability, minimise downtime, and drive continuous improvement. The Role • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site services, • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to reduce disruption to production, • Support installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement of machinery and equipment, • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment, • Maintain accurate records using the CMMS system, • Assist with procurement of spare parts and engineering consumables, • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing upgrades, • Ensure compliance with health & safety and electrical regulations, • Support contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams when required What we're looking for Essential: • Completed electrical or multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (e.g. ONC/OND or above), • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, • Strong fault-finding skills on CNC and automated machinery, • Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and communication skills, • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, • IT literate (Word, Excel, Outlook), • Experience with Homag woodworking and Cefla painting machinery, • Fabrication or machining experience, • MEWP certification (or willingness to train Working Pattern • Shift-based role with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and call-outs, • Participation in a rotational on-call system Why join us? • Be part of a collaborative, skilled engineering team, • Opportunities for training and development, • Play a key role in improving operational efficiency and innovation, • Work in a varied manufacturing environment with hands-on technical challenges What we offer • Competitive salary, • Annual leave: 25 days rising to 31 (plus bank holidays), • Enhanced sick pay (linked to service), • Company pension with matched contributions, • Life assurance (up to 4x salary), • Access to health & wellbeing support including EAP and digital GP services, • Flexible working options and holiday buy-back scheme, • Cycle to work scheme and high street discounts, • On-site parking, • Employee referral bonus scheme, • Exclusive staff purchase discounts
