Due to continued growth, Lyndon Systems Ltd is looking for a practical and experienced Mobile Vehicle Technician / Field Service Engineer to join our team. This is a varied mobile role travelling to customer sites across the UK, carrying out fault finding, servicing and repairs on our specialist commercial vehicle conversions. Previous experience with welfare vehicles or vehicle conversions is NOT essential. We're interested in people from a wide range of mechanical and electrical backgrounds. If you're good with your hands, confident fault finding and capable of solving problems independently, we can train you on our specific vehicles and systems. The Role Working from a company vehicle, you'll attend customer sites throughout the UK to diagnose problems and complete repairs. Your work will include: • Mechanical fault finding and repairs, • 12V electrical fault finding, • Servicing and maintenance, • Testing and replacing components, • Diagnosing faults at customer sites, • Repairing specialist vehicle conversion equipment, • Liaising directly with customers, • Working alongside our Doncaster-based technical team, • Occasional workshop-based repairs This isn't a repetitive production role. You'll be dealing with different vehicles, different faults and different challenges, so we're looking for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems and finding solutions. We're more interested in your practical ability, attitude and fault-finding skills than whether you've previously worked specifically within the vehicle conversion industry. What We're Looking For Ideally, you'll have: • Good practical mechanical experience, • Electrical/12V fault-finding ability, • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills, • Ability to work independently, • A professional approach when dealing with customers, • Good communication skills, • Willingness to travel throughout the UK, • Full UK driving licence – clean licence preferred but not essential Due to the nationwide nature of the role, occasional overnight stays and working away from home will be required.
