Site Agent / Site Manager - Ground InvestigationLocation: DoncasterContract: Permanent, Full TimeSector: Ground Investigation / Geotechnical / InfrastructureExperience: Minimum 5 years' relevant UK ground investigation experienceThe OpportunityAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Agent / Site Manager to join a leading ground investigation and infrastructure team based from the Doncaster office.This role is suited for a candidate with strong site management experience within ground investigation, civil engineering or infrastructure projects. The successful candidate does not need to be highly technical from a geologist perspective, but must be confident managing site operations, coordinating teams and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of ground investigation projects, working closely with project managers, drilling teams, subcontractors, clients and internal technical staff.The role will suit a proactive, reliable and flexible individual who enjoys being on site, leading teams and keeping projects moving.About the site investigation, monitoring, testing and technical delivery for a wide range of infrastructure and development schemes.The RoleAs Site Agent / Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing and delivering ground investigation works on site.You will oversee daily operations, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, manage site documentation and ensure works are completed safely and in line with the agreed scope, programme and client requirements.The position will involve regular travel to project sites, with overnight stays required depending on project location.Key Responsibilities Site Management and DeliveryManage the day-to-day running of ground investigation sitesCoordinate site mobilisation, set-up and demobilisationSupervise drilling teams, subcontractors, site staff and suppliersEnsure site works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programmeMonitor progress against project requirements and report updates clearlyMaintain accurate site records, daily diaries and project documentationIdentify and resolve site issues quickly and professionallyEscalate technical, commercial or programme concerns where requiredSupport the successful delivery of both land-based and overwater projectsTeam and Subcontractor CoordinationAllocate daily tasks to site teams and subcontractorsEnsure operatives are briefed on RAMS, site rules and client requirementsCoordinate drilling crews, plant, equipment and materialsMaintain clear communication between site teams and project managersSupport and guide junior site staff where requiredAssist with supervision and training of site-based personnelPromote a professional and organised working environment on siteHealth, Safety and QualityTake responsibility for maintaining strong health, safety and quality standards on siteEnsure work is carried out in accordance with approved RAMS and company proceduresDeliver site inductions, briefings and toolbox talksMonitor safe working practices across site activitiesReport hazards, incidents and near misses promptlyCarry out site checks and support compliance with client requirementsEnsure site documentation is completed accurately and on timePromote a positive safety culture across all site operationsGround Investigation SupportOversee intrusive ground investigation worksSupport investigation methods such as cable percussion, rotary drilling, window sampling, trial pits and monitoring worksEnsure works are completed in line with the project specificationCoordinate sampling, logging support and laboratory requirements with technical staffRecord site conditions, progress and any changes to planned worksLiaise with project managers and technical teams regarding site findingsSupport factual reporting by ensuring accurate site information is capturedClient and Stakeholder LiaisonAct as a key site contact for clients and project stakeholdersAttend site meetings and provide progress updatesLiaise with contractors, consultants, landowners and client representativesCommunicate changes, delays or site constraints clearlyMaintain professional working relationships throughout project deliverySupport repeat business through reliable and well-managed site deliveryAbout YouWe are looking for an experienced site-based professional with a strong background in ground investigation, geotechnical works or civil engineering site delivery.You may currently be working as a Site Agent, Site Manager, Senior Site Supervisor, Senior Engineering Geologist or Senior Site Geologist.You do not need to be the most technical person in the team, but you must be confident managing people, site operations, safety, programme and client communication.A practical mindset, strong organisation skills and the ability to keep projects moving will be essential.Essential RequirementsMinimum 5 years' relevant UK ground investigation, geotechnical or civil engineering site experiencePrevious experience managing or supervising site operationsStrong understanding of site health and safety requirementsExperience coordinating subcontractors, drilling crews or site teamsAbility to manage daily site activities and keep projects on programmeGood understanding of ground investigation works and site proceduresExperience working with RAMS, permits, site records and daily diariesConfident communicating with clients, project managers and site teamsStrong organisational and problem-solving skillsProactive, reliable and flexible approachFull UK driving licenceWillingness to travel and stay away when requiredDesirable ExperiencePrevious experience as a Site Agent, Site Manager or Senior Site SupervisorExperience on land-based and overwater ground investigation projectsSSSTS or SMSTS qualificationCSCS cardFirst Aid at Work qualificationCAT and Genny trainingExperience working on infrastructure, highways, rail, utilities or major civil engineering projectsExperience supporting the
