Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses to join the Adult Community Health & Social Care Service on the Island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. Jarrodean is delighted to be supporting this recent collaboration between the States of Guernsey and Dementia UK since 2022. The Older Adult Service in Guernsey has a four in-patient centres; as well as Day Services and a Community Team comprising a MDT of Band 6 CPNs, OT, Social Worker. You will support, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care in order to improve the experience of carers/families affected by dementia with complex needs. In line with the Admiral Nurse Competency framework at a specialist level, you will report to the Band 7 Admiral Nurse and be in regular communication with inpatient and community Older Adult Mental Health teams to provide: • Specialist bio-psychosocial assessment and support for people with dementia and families with complex needs, • Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence-based dementia care, • Support with policy development and quality improvements in relation to dementia care, • Consultancy to other health and social care professionals regarding dementia Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale. The current Band 6 salary range is £47,860 to £64,615 plus an annual bonus of £1,747 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH. 356 Lower Addiscombe Road Addiscombe Croydon Surrey CR0 7AF To coin the British phrase “hodgepodge” meaning a jumble of things, we have a hodgepodge of a role that would suit a confident GP vet who likes to work between different environments, while still having a level of consistency in their rota. Working between 2 very different practices (not on the same day) you will be providing consistency to our clients and teams week in week out. The rota for this split sole charge role consists of Wednesdays in Croydon, Thursdays and Fridays in New Addington, then 1:4 and 1:10 Mondays in Croydon. Inclusive of the 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Stone Lion Sunday rotation the average weekly hours total is 36.7 per week. There can also be variations if you wished to have an early finish once a week, or additional hours to achieve 40 hours per week. You will be rota ‘d to 1-2 bank holidays per year in Stone Lion, and there are NO on-call requirements. Both sites have their own nuance’s, and you will be fully supported in both with experienced support colleagues who have worked in their respective branches for years. • Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols., • Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and limitation of overnight care., • Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance., • Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure that pets’ histories are accurate comprehensive and useful to colleagues., • Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, when there is an inability to undertake a case for whatever reason., • Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment, • Work alongside your RVN to ensure branch meetings are scheduled and the clinics SOP’s are being actioned, • Oversee the consulting and surgical/diagnostic diary in compliance with company policies. You will have full clinical support from Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon, for any complex referrals you may need to make, and OOH care for your patients. You also have the support from a dedicated regional manager, and regional head vet who has a wealth of knowledge to pass on and can support you in your clinical management needs. Being south of the river, you are ideally located near idyllic Kingston Upon Thames. New Addington is a stone’s throw 2-minute walk from the tram link, and Croydon an 8-minute walk from the tram, where you can pick up other lines to get across the city.
