You have probably used Croda’s science today without knowing it. Our ingredients are in the sunscreen that protects your skin, the medicines that keep people well, and the crop technologies helping farmers feed a growing world. We are a FTSE-listed company using smart science to improve lives - and behind all of that science sits technology worth protecting. That is where you come in. This is the operational heart of cyber security at Croda. You will take security policy off the page and turn it into controls that actually work - in offices, in the cloud, and on manufacturing plant floors around the world. When something goes wrong, you will be at the centre of the response, coordinating people calmly and driving incidents to resolution. Day to day, you will support the operational rhythm of security: triaging alerts, prioritising vulnerabilities, advising projects, and making security feel like an enabler rather than a blocker. You will report to our Head of Cyber Services, as part of a cyber function being reshaped for the future, with real influence over how security is delivered across a global business. You do not need to tick every box. If you meet most of these and this role excites you, we would genuinely like to hear from you. • Experience working in cyber security, with a strong understanding of core security principles and how to apply them in practice., • Experience supporting or participating in incident response, alongside familiarity with security technologies including monitoring platforms, endpoint security, cloud controls and vulnerability tooling., • Demonstrable fluency in AI prompt and context engineering, with the ability to use AI effectively in practical security work., • A clear and pragmatic communicator who can provide practical security guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders., • Working knowledge of recognised security frameworks such as NIST CSF or ISO 27001. Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or GCIH would be advantageous, although relevant experience is equally valued, • Experience in regulated, enterprise-scale or manufacturing environments, • Exposure to cloud platforms or security operations tooling at scale, • Make security real - turn Croda’s security policies and standards into practical, proportionate controls that teams actually adopt, • Respond when it matters - act as a core member of our incident response capability, coordinating or leading response across detection, triage, containment, eradication and recovery, then driving lessons learned, • Run daily operations - investigate alerts, guide vulnerability remediation, keep on top of threat intelligence, and make sure real risks get acted on, • Advise, not police - be the pragmatic, trusted security voice for IT, engineering and business teams - on projects, in change management, and in day-to-day decisions, • Work smarter with AI - use AI as a genuine force multiplier - accelerating investigation, analysis, documentation and response AI fluency is part of this job We are serious about this one. Modern security operations are being transformed by AI, and we want someone who is already fluent in prompt engineering and context engineering - who knows how to brief an AI model with the right context, structure a prompt to get reliable output, and judge when to trust the result and when not to. You might use these skills to accelerate log analysis, draft incident communications, summarise threat intelligence, or build repeatable AI-assisted workflows for the team. Hybrid working | Permanent | Full-time, part-time or job share. Flexible on hours The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits package including: • Hybrid and flexible working., • Investment in your professional development, including certifications, training and mentoring., • A broad cyber security role with exposure to security decision-making across a global organisation., • The opportunity to help protect the technology behind science that improves lives.
