Warehouse & Tanker Operative \n Temporary to Permanent Opportunity \n We are recruiting an experienced Warehouse & Tanker Operative to join a busy, safety-focused operation supporting the receipt, storage, handling, and despatch of raw materials and finished goods. \n Please note, this is not a tanker driver position and no HGV or tanker driving licence is required. However, previous experience loading and unloading tankers and carrying out bulk transfer operations is essential. \n This is a temporary ongoing position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. \n Salary & Benefits \n\n • Competitive pay rate of £15.67 per hour\n, • Opportunity to secure a permanent position\n, • Access to Reed Benefits, including discounts, wellbeing support, and employee perks\n, • Comprehensive site-specific training provided\n\n During the initial training and qualifying period, the successful candidate will work: \n\n • Monday to Friday\n, • 8:00am – 4:00pm\n\n Following successful completion of the training period and demonstration of competence within the role, employees will move onto the site's rotating shift pattern: \n\n • 6:00am – 2:00pm\n, • 12:00pm – 8:00pm (alternate weeks)\n\n The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of packed and bulk materials across the site. A significant part of the role involves the loading and unloading of road tankers, making previous tanker handling experience essential. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Receiving, storing, picking, and despatching finished goods and raw materials.\n, • Loading and unloading bulk liquid and/or powder tankers in accordance with site procedures and strict safety regulations.\n, • Carrying out tanker transfer operations, including connection and disconnection of loading and unloading equipment.\n, • Completing tanker paperwork, transfer records, and associated documentation accurately.\n, • Conducting pre-use equipment checks and reporting any defects or issues.\n, • Loading and unloading vehicles in line with company and regulatory procedures.\n, • Operating Counterbalance FLT and shunter vehicle as required.\n, • Ensuring goods are correctly labelled, documented, and stored (SAP experience desirable).\n, • Supplying production areas with materials in a timely manner.\n, • Supporting stock control activities and stock takes.\n, • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.\n, • Liaising with production teams, management, transport providers, and third parties to ensure efficient operations.\n, • Working in accordance with all Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures.\n\n Key Skills & Experience \n Essential \n\n • Previous experience loading and unloading road tankers.\n, • Understanding of tanker transfer processes and associated safety procedures.\n, • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.\n, • Experience within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environment.\n, • Ability to safely handle both packed and bulk materials.\n, • Strong understanding of health and safety practices.\n, • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.\n, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n, • Comfortable completing paperwork and using IT systems.\n\n What We're Looking For \n We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious individual with a strong warehouse background and hands-on tanker handling experience. As tanker loading and unloading is a critical aspect of this position, candidates must be able to demonstrate previous experience carrying out bulk transfer operations safely and efficiently. \n \n
