Private Early Childhood Mandarin Tutor (1-on-1)


Position Overview We are seeking a patient, warm, and energetic language tutor to provide 1-on-1 Mandarin immersion for a 2-year-old child in Long Island City.
The primary goal is to foster early listening comprehension and natural speaking skills through engaging, play-based interactions.
Key Responsibilities Conduct dynamic, interactive 1-on-1 immersion sessions tailored for early childhood.
Integrate vocabulary and language learning through songs, storytelling, movement, and hands-on toys.
Create a safe, playful, and encouraging environment that holds a toddler's attention.
Provide brief updates on progress and suggest simple words or activities for daily home reinforcement.
Qualifications Native or bilingual fluency in Mandarin Chinese with standard pronunciation.
Background in early childhood education, daycare, or 1-on-1 toddler tutoring.
Strong understanding of play-based teaching methodologies for ages 1–3.Exceptional patience, high energy, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
Schedule & Compensation
Format: In-Person
Location: 4707 39th St, Long Island City, NY Schedule: Part-time (Flexible / 2–3 sessions per week)
Pay Rate: $30 – $40 / hour

Responsibilities: · Provide homework assistance in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and other subjects. · Reinforce classroom learning using age-appropriate instructional strategies. · Encourage positive study habits and organizational skills. · Monitor student progress and communicate concerns to program staff. · Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. · Support students with varying learning styles and abilities. · Assist student with educational games, literacy activities, and enrichment projects. · Encourage positive behavior through patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. · Help supervise students during transitions and program activities. · Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
