HR Recruiter
Location: 355 Food Center Drive, Bronx, NY 10474
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 annually
About the Role
Nebraskaland is seeking an energetic, resourceful, and highly organized HR Recruiter to join our Human Resources team. This is a hands-on role responsible for building strong talent pipelines and managing the full recruitment lifecycle across the organization, while also supporting broader HR initiatives as business needs evolve.
The ideal candidate has experience in high-volume recruiting and knows how to find great people in a competitive labor market. You will recruit across a variety of positions, with a strong focus on warehouse, transportation/driver, operations, and office-based roles.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing and screening through offers, pre-employment activities, and onboarding.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, position requirements, and hiring priorities.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies for high-volume hourly positions, including warehouse associates, drivers, and operational roles.
- Build candidate pipelines through job boards, social media, employee referrals, career fairs, schools, community organizations, open houses, and other sourcing channels.
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies that strengthen Nebraskaland's employment brand and attract qualified candidates.
- Manage internal and external job postings and maintain consistent communication with hiring managers regarding candidate pipelines and open positions.
- Effectively utilize and manage relationships with staffing agencies and contingent recruiters when additional recruiting support is required.
- Work toward established time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and staffing goals while maintaining candidate quality.
- Track recruiting activity and provide regular reporting on openings, hires, candidate pipelines, turnover, and other key staffing metrics.
- Monitor local labor-market conditions, compensation trends, competitor hiring activity, and candidate availability and share insights with HR and business leaders.
- Partner with operational leaders to anticipate seasonal hiring needs and changes in workforce requirements.
- Support recruiting-related compliance requirements, including applicable OFCCP and equal employment opportunity practices.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation and support onboarding activities that provide employees with a welcoming, consistent, and engaging introduction to Nebraskaland.
- Partner with the HR team to identify turnover trends and develop initiatives that improve attraction, engagement, and retention.
- Support additional HR-related projects, initiatives, and administrative responsibilities as needed, based on business and departmental priorities.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of recruiting experience, preferably including high-volume hourly recruitment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required, with the ability to communicate effectively with candidates and employees in both languages.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple open positions and competing hiring priorities.
- Experience recruiting within food distribution, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, or another high-volume environment is a plus.
- Strong sourcing skills with experience using job boards, social media, networking, referrals, career fairs, and community-based recruiting.
- Working knowledge of recruiting compliance and OFCCP requirements.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Highly organized, responsive, and able to follow through in a fast-moving environment.
- Comfortable adjusting priorities as business and staffing needs change.
- Interest in expanding beyond recruiting and supporting broader HR initiatives over time.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Schedule & Flexibility
This is a full-time, exempt position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Because recruiting and HR activities do not always occur during traditional business hours, flexibility is required based on business needs. This may occasionally include adjusted start or end times to support job fairs, hiring events, orientations, interviews, employee needs, or other HR initiatives.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $75,000–$95,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Nebraskaland’s roots run deep, starting with Richard Romanoff, who, at just 26, founded the company selling oxtails in New York City. With a deep respect for his family’s heritage in Nebraska and the meat industry, he chose the name Nebraskaland to honor his grandfather’s legacy. From the very beginning, Richard built the company on the values of hard work, integrity, and family—principles that continue to guide us today. Since then, Nebraskaland has become a cornerstone in wholesale meat distribution, offering more than just exceptional products. Our commitment to excellence makes us a trusted partner for independent retailers throughout the Northeast. Rooted in family values, we provide superior quality and service with a focus on freshness and reliability. Our SQF-certified facility upholds the highest standards of food safety, and we pride ourselves on cultivating lasting relationships with our partners, employees, and communities.
