At Honeybrains, we’re building a community around feel-good food, thoughtful hospitality, and an energized, welcoming space. We’re looking for a hands-on Supervisor who leads by example, supports the team with empathy, and ensures the café runs smoothly—especially when the General Manager is not onsite.


Position Overview
The Supervisor plays a dual role: a fully engaged team member and a reliable leader. You will actively participate in all day-to-day café operations while serving as the point person during GM absences. This role requires strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a proactive mindset to anticipate needs and solve problems in real time.


Key Responsibilities
Team Member Responsibilities

  • Perform all standard café duties including barista service, food preparation, register operation, cleaning, restocking, and maintaining overall store cleanliness.
  • Deliver warm, attentive hospitality that reflects the Honeybrains brand.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
    Operational Leadership
  • Ensure the café operates smoothly and efficiently in the GM’s absence.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and proper workflow throughout each shift.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs proactively.
  • Uphold company standards and ensure team accountability.
    Customer Experience & Conflict Resolution
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and care.
  • Resolve issues calmly and effectively, always prioritizing a positive guest experience.
  • Turn challenges into opportunities to build guest loyalty.
    Team Leadership
  • Lead by example with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Support and motivate team members through empathy, clear communication, and constructive feedback.
  • Help cultivate a collaborative, respectful, and high-energy work environment.
  • Step in wherever needed to support the team during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory or shift-lead experience in a café or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and solution-oriented in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly dependable.
  • Passion for hospitality and team development.
  • NYC Food Handlers required within 30 days of hiring
