Position Summary: The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and/or building food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Academy Charter school location based on school requirements and needs. Responsibilities: • Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions, • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures, • Sets up work stations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc., • Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes work stations, • Serves food to students, teachers, admin, etc. while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers’ needs The Academy is committed to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. About the OASAS Primary Prevention Program: Our OASAS Primary Prevention Program offers evidence-based education and support to children, families, and community stakeholders, with the goal of preventing substance and alcohol use. Bachelor's degree CASAC, CPP or CPS preferred, • Preferably one year of experience working with children and adolescents or community action work., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required., • Ability to practice within the scope of OASAS Prevention regulations., • Driving; Driving positions require NYS License, in good standing and drivers must be 21 years of age or older., • Computer skills are essential., • Access to a reliable vehicle that can be used on a regular basis for work., • Excellent writing skills/time management., • Ability to be flexible with scheduling (work evenings, possible weekends if necessary)., • Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work.
