Specific curriculum, demonstrations, project requirements, available materials, and instructional activities vary by assignment. QUALIFICATIONS Preferred qualifications include: • At least 60 college credits, where required by the applicable assignment or site;, • Experience in cosmetology, hairstyling, barbering, makeup artistry, nail technology, esthetics, beauty education, or related creative disciplines;, • Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or leading activities with school-age students;, • Strong communication, organization, and classroom facilitation skills;, • Availability to provide services for the accepted assignment schedule and communicate schedule issues as soon as reasonably practicable; and, • Ability to demonstrate techniques while maintaining safe, age-appropriate instructional practices. Preferred backgrounds may include licensed cosmetologists, hairstylists, barbers, makeup artists, nail technicians, estheticians, beauty educators, cosmetology students, salon professionals, fashion professionals, and others with relevant instructional or industry experience. MATERIALS AND RESOURCES Assignments may utilize school-provided classroom materials, mirrors, mannequin heads, practice supplies, curriculum resources, lesson plans, project guides, presentation materials, and other instructional resources, where available. Contractors may use their own instructional methods and materials when appropriate, safe, age-appropriate, lawful, and consistent with the assignment scope and site requirements. Purchases requiring reimbursement must be approved in writing by Concorde before they are incurred. COMPENSATION Compensation varies by assignment and agreed contractor terms. Many opportunities pay $50+ per completed instructional service hour with students. Contractors may propose their desired compensation rate when applying. When proposing a rate, contractors should consider the overall assignment scope, including anticipated preparation, planning, commute, materials, schedule, and other business considerations. Concorde may accept the proposed rate, decline the application, or provide a counteroffer based on the budget for the specific assignment. Unless otherwise approved in writing, compensation is based on completed instructional service hours with students. RISE seeks a Training Coordinator to lead the development, organization, and implementation of training and education initiatives across Community Initiatives. Reporting to the Program Manager of Community Initiatives, the Training Coordinator will design high-quality training programs, build out curriculum and educational materials, and coordinate internal and external training efforts that strengthen community capacity around IPV, healthy relationships, accountability, and violence prevention. The Family Court Practice Institute is a public/private partnership funded by the NYS Unified Court System, dedicated to promoting high quality legal representation in New York State Family Court through training and support of attorneys who represent children, parents, agencies, and the related professionals who support holistic representation. Under the guidance and direction of the Director and Deputy Director of the Family Court Practice Institute, the Director of Legal Training and Curriculum will play a critical role in the design, growth and reach of the Family Court Practice Institute. Given the scope of work, the Center anticipates hiring two Directors of Legal Training and Curriculum who will work together, coordinating with staff, consultants and lived experience experts in the ongoing design and delivery of in-person and online trainings for family court lawyers and members of the lawyers’ representation team. The role requires substantive knowledge of relevant federal and NYS law, professional ethics, lawyering skills, public and social policy, and innovative trauma-informed practice in the family court arena, along with demonstrated leadership, management and strong interpersonal skills. To serve practitioners throughout New York State, the Practice Institute’s training curricula will be tailored, as warranted, to address the training needs of local jurisdictions. The Director of Legal Training and Curriculum will take a hands-on lead role in developing and implementing a foundational family court practice curriculum, as well as branched and specialized curricula to address identified training needs and gaps particular to specific roles, skills and subject matter. Familiarity with New York Family Court practice—across case types—will be key, as well as the ability to identify and/or work alongside subject matter and training experts. In addition to delivery of comprehensive training, the Practice Institute is working to build a robust and comprehensive website that includes an array of practice resources and tools, caselaw updates, and a Learning Management System (LMS) platform. The Director of Legal Training and Curriculum will coordinate with staff in creating practice guides and resource materials for publication on the website to enhance the work of Family Court Practitioners and will support other Practice Institute initiatives. POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Recovery Supports and Training is responsible for the development and management of a peer-led, 24/7 Resource & Recovery Center to support people in all stages of recovery and managing the training program at Next Step. The Director is responsible for facilitating the design and implementation of outreach events, volunteer recruitment, training and retention, and support of all Recovery Center services. The Director is responsible for the delivery and implementation of a core training curriculum that includes substance use recovery, recovery coaching, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and professional ethics/ training for emerging peer leaders. Job Description The Licensed Supervising Social Worker plays a central role in maintaining the Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC) as the first New York State-licensed outpatient mental health clinic to specialize exclusively in the evidence-based treatment of traumatized survivors of all ages who have experienced interpersonal violence. SHCC also functions as a resource to the agency with regard to trauma-focused treatment for survivors of crime. The Licensed Supervising Social Worker provides weekly supervision and training to a maximum of 7 staff therapists as well as social work and mental health counseling interns. Supervision includes providing weekly support to our treatment staff in reaching administrative as well as clinical productivity goals. This includes careful review of therapist documentation to ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal regulations as well as Safe Horizon productivity and practice requirements. In addition to providing staff with clinical and administrative supervision, the Licensed Supervising Social Worker assists in the development and implementation of the SHCC in-house training program. This includes engaging all staff (treatment staff as well as administrative staff) at SHCC in the design and implementation of a training calendar and curriculum that integrates all of the knowledge, skills and values necessary for new staff to learn in order to effectively serve our clients at SHCC. This work includes engaging the expertise of external and in-house experts on the trauma of racism as well as interpersonal violence, evidence-based treatment, administration and legal and regulatory compliance. The Licensed Supervising Social Worker also provides licensed trauma-focused treatment to a caseload of 12 individuals and families. The Licensed Supervising Social Worker functions as part of the clinic’s leadership through the facilitation of various SHCC subcommittees and workgroups and represents SHCC through participation in agency-wide subcommittees and workgroups when necessary. Direct Student Support - 70% • Provide one-on-one guidance to a caseload of 60 - 65 high school seniors, • College Lists, • Coach each student towards a college list that meets Access Program standards, is individualized to that student, and is in line with admissions and affordability data, • Adjust admissions chances based on changes to student academic profile throughout the year, • Essays, • Help each student brainstorm, revise, and finalize college essays by utilizing both in person and remote support tools, • Applications, • Design individualized service plans to ensure each student submits complete, high-quality college applications by institutional priority deadlines, • Support students in identifying and completing missing/additional application materials throughout the Winter and Spring, • Financial Aid/Decision Making, • Guide students (in person or remotely) to submit FAFSA and/or CSS Profile by institutional priority deadlines, • Identify and support students selected for federal income and/or citizenship verification, • Identify students eligible for a variety of scholarships, • Explain financial aid award data to each student, and coach them to make a financially responsible college decision, • Support students with submitting a deposit to a college by May 1st, • Maintain ongoing communication with all students on caseload, • Lead 60-minute meetings for 15 - 20 students per week at the Bottom Line office, a high school campus, or other off-site locations throughout the region, • Respond to all student text/calls/emails within 2 business days, • Develop individualized communication plans to ensure students remain engaged with the program and meet deadlines, • Help students resolve general obstacles that come up throughout the school year by coaching them on self-advocacy and resourcefulness skills Caseload & Data Management – 20% • Track and record student progress in our database, using both quantitative and qualitative measures, • Enter data into the database within 3 business days of a student interaction or status change, • Maintain accurate student contact information in the student database, • Enter and update data for students applying to Bottom Line and/or transitioning into the Success Program, • Manage a caseload of 60 - 65 high school students, including, but not limited to:, • Schedule all student meetings on a weekly, or as needed, basis, • Manage time and calendar to meet minimum number of meetings per week and minimum number of meetings per student per year, • Align meetings to student process, ensuring adequate progress is being made and driving towards individual student deadlines, • Ensure all students adhere to individual and institutional deadlines Student Recruitment - 5% • Build understanding and excitement about Bottom Line with prospective students via group presentations, workshops, and tabling events; support students in filling out the online application, • Support a caseload of applicants through the Bottom Line application process by processing student applications, making phone calls, and answering questions about the process and the program, • Onboard students into the Access program via phone calls, group events, and scheduling 1:1 meetings Program & Organizational Support - 5% • Support the Development team by attending events, networking with guests / supporters, and providing event logistics as needed, • Support planning and staff of Access Program events, including but not limited to, student workshops and the core program events, • Additional program support as assigned by supervisor, • Represent the Bottom Line brand in a positive light, and take actions to increase brand awareness throughout the community Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without advanced notice. Work Schedule: *We operate under an in-person first, hybrid program approach which includes a combination of in-person and virtual work. There will be periods during the year when remote work is more feasible, with in-person work ranging from 30-90%.* College Access Advisors are non-exempt, overtime eligible staff and work an 8.5 hour shift, including a daily ½ hour unpaid meal/rest break to comply with FLSA. There will be times throughout the year when an advisor will be expected to work additional hours and/or flex their schedule to meet our students' needs. Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities Conducts therapy groups and individual therapy sessions for school-aged students with I/DD and/or multiple disabilities in area(s) of specialization implementing therapeutic interventions consistent with students’ documented needs and therapy goals, including those defined in areas of instructional and therapeutic focus and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP), using appropriate techniques within area of specialization. Experienced LCATs may be selected for assignment as CAT Coordinator and will perform the following tasks, in addition to the above: Oversees and coordinates activities of the Creative Arts Therapy (CAT) team by overseeing caseload, planning and scheduling activities, ensuring facilitation of scheduled activities and confirming completion of progress reports consistent with all applicable requirements or timelines. Conducts regular CAT team meetings with related therapists, including other mental health or other staff and/or leadership as needed to discuss goals, themes, students and collaborate for events.
