Description We are seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer who will manage a collaborative and dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as a Lead Engineer and Technical Project Manager on high voltage electric transmission line design projects of overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country as well as regional utilities. The candidate will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of all types of capital and maintenance projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. Additionally, the candidate will direct a team of engineers that regularly perform engineering analyses, PLS-CADD modeling, structure loading calculations, foundation design using MFAD and/or LPILE, design structure framing and hardware assemblies, draft plans and specifications, and prepare bill of materials and procurement documents across project planning, engineering, environmental, permitting, and construction management phases. In addition, the successful candidate will be involved in applying AI, automation, and digital design platforms to streamline grid modernization and increase design efficiency. The successful candidate will be able to communicate clear expectations, goals, and vision; manage the performance of direct reports; motivate, coach, and mentor skilled professionals; and appropriately delegate project work. The Challenge: • Direct multiple design teams simultaneously executing various projects and programs for multiple clients., • Develop a team of engineers by training, coaching, and nurturing Leidos’ engineering talent., • Supervise staff by approving timesheets and running the annual performance review process., • Participate proactively as a member of the leadership team of the Transmission Line Section., • Create responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs from clients for new work, including proposal creation and definition of scope of work., • Possess a growth mindset to foster creative problem solving for our clients’ most complex issues., • Promote continuous improvement to develop streamlined processes and tools that facilitate improvements to departmental technical resources via innovation and automation., • Delegate tasks to staff, forecast and plan their future workload, and run recruiting activities to support aggressive growth goals., • Drive the quality control process for the execution team to ensure the highest level of quality in all deliverables., • Liaise with clients to maximize affinity, facilitate business development growth, and foster long-term relationship building., • Manage portfolio health by leveraging Project Managers to independently drive and monitor scope, schedule, and budget. What Sets You Apart (Required): • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, preferred, or Mechanical Engineering with eight plus (8+) years of relevant experience in the design of high voltage electric utility transmission systems., • Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE., • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification., • Work effectively in a team environment; can also work independently., • Track record of outstanding communication to serve as primary point of contact for existing and perspective clients., • Business acumen with a record of understanding and meeting key project performance metrics., • Working onsite in a Leidos or client office is a possibility; some periodic travel may be required., • Ability and passion to develop staff through mentoring. The Opportunity This Account Executive will focus on strategic SIS growth across North Jersey, representing $20M in TAM. Compensation Base salary is $82,000. On-target earnings are $130,000 to $160,000 in Year 2, with tiered accelerators that reward performance above quota. A non-recoverable ramp bridge is provided in 2026-2027 to support you through the early pipeline-building phase. As your book grows, you earn commission on annual license increases in addition to new license performance. What We're Looking For Required: 3 to 7 years of ed-tech SaaS sales experience, with enterprise platforms (SIS, HR, etc.) preferred. Comfort with $20K to $100K deal sizes and 9 to 12 month sales cycles. Proven quota attainment in a hunter or hybrid role. Exceptional ability to communicate value. Description We are seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer who will manage a collaborative and dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. We are seeking candidates at the rank of Full Professor with a demonstrated record of scholarship, strategic leadership, and mentorship. Essential Functions: -Lead the development and advancing of a compelling vision for the MIE department, aligned with the strategic plan of the university. -Coordinate and lead the educational activities of the department, including curriculum development, effective and efficient curriculum delivery, and educational innovation. -Coordinate and lead the development of the department's research agenda, joint efforts to secure intramural and extramural research support, and improvements of the research infrastructure. -Coordinate and lead recruiting of students to the department's programs at all levels, including high quality Ph.D. candidates. -Supervise the search and recruiting of new faculty members, including high-potential researchers in growing areas. -Serve as an effective and productive liaison to the university's administration, research funding agencies, policy making bodies, and industry. -Serve as an engaged member of the dean's leadership team, contributing to the overall development of the college's resources, direction, and success. Prerequisite Qualifications: -Ph.D. or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely-related area. Professional and personal attributes that merit academic appointment at the Full Professor level. -Significant experience in academic teaching and a commitment to high-quality education. Interest in advancing engineering education programs, new pedagogical methods, and new modes of education delivery. -A proven record of scholarship, demonstrating the ability to attract external research support, educate and mentor graduate students, develop and publish original findings, and exhibit intellectual leadership in the profession. -A record of excellent leadership and management skills suitable for the leader of a world-class research and education program. -A record of professional engagement with organizations such as professional associations, industrial corporations, government labs, decision-making/policy bodies and multi-university centers. -The ability to work and collaborate with groups and individuals from diverse backgrounds and a wide variety of origins, viewpoints, and objectives. -At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. Bargaining Unit: PSA Range/Band: 2 Salary Information: In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $180,000-$260,000 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
