This full-time position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, as well as a pension plan and paid vacation. Responsibilities include: Triaging patients. Measuring and recording patients' vital signs. Performing certain diagnostic tests (such as EKG, spirometry, Audiometry, etc.) and assisting the physician with certain medical procedures, as needed. Collecting, labeling and routing specimens according to standard procedures. Preparing patient records prior to visit by ensuring that required lab results and documentation are entered in the medical record for the physician's review. Performing a variety of front office duties such as verifying health insurance benefits, acquiring prior authorizations, scheduling patient visits and answering phones. Maintaining the orderliness of the office by stocking cupboards and monitoring supplies. Performing and documenting calibration of laboratory equipment when needed. Qualifications: Successful completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants. Certification or registration with the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred. At least one year experience as a medical assistant in a medical office. Familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite. Good reading, writing and communication skills.
