Job DescriptionLead Superintendent Lead Superintendent Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to direct on-site construction activities across a portfolio of healthcare, education, commercial, and residential projects. The Lead Superintendent will ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery by leading field teams, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing quality and safety standards, and serving as the primary on-site representative for clients and project management. This role requires strong technical knowledge, proven leadership, and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in regulated environments such as healthcare and education. Key Responsibilities • Lead and supervise on-site construction teams and multiple superintendent-level staff to deliver projects according to schedule, budget, and quality expectations., • Plan, organize, and monitor daily site operations, including scheduling subcontractors, materials, inspections, and trade coordination to maintain progress milestones., • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations (OSHA and company policies), implement site-specific safety plans, and promote a zero-incident culture., • Maintain high standards of quality control through regular inspections, punch-list management, and coordination with quality assurance teams and design professionals., • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and owners to resolve RFIs, submittals, design changes, and unforeseen site conditions quickly and effectively., • Manage site-level budget controls by tracking labor productivity, timekeeping, change orders, and cost-impact assessments; escalate issues to project management as needed., • Oversee permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance specific to healthcare and education projects (e.g., infection control, life-safety systems), and ensure documentation is complete for closeout., • Mentor, coach, and develop junior superintendents and field staff to build a high-performing workforce and ensure consistent construction practices across projects., • Prepare and deliver clear, timely daily/weekly progress reports, site logs, meeting minutes, and handover documentation for project stakeholders., • Drive commissioning, start-up, turnover, and project closeout activities to ensure client satisfaction and readiness for occupancy.Qualifications, • 10+ years of construction experience with a minimum of 5 years in a superintendent or lead superintendent role; proven track record delivering projects in healthcare, education, commercial, and residential sectors., • Demonstrated knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements (including healthcare and education-specific standards)., • Proficient with project management and field technology tools such as Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar platforms., • OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, ICRA for healthcare projects) preferred., • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills with experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary crews., • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and cost reports; strong attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude., • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel between project sites; ability to work flexible hours as required by project needs.
