Job Description Job Title: Fulfillment Technician Pay: $23.50/hr Shift: First 6 weeks - M - F / 1:30pm - 10PM After: Sunday: 8AM - 5PM Mon - Thurs / 1:30pm - 10pm Location: West Sacramento, CA Job Description This role supports a large-scale pharmacy distribution operation by accurately packaging prescriptions, performing detailed audits, and handling shipping documentation in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will work with HIPAA-sensitive information, use handheld scanners and basic computer applications, and contribute to the safe, accurate, and timely distribution of medications and supplies. Responsibilities • Perform prescription packaging while carefully handling HIPAA-sensitive and medication information in accordance with standard operating procedures., • Sort prescriptions using handheld scanners by scanning shipping label barcodes and corresponding location bin barcodes, then placing prescriptions into the correct bins., • Conduct audits on closed bins by performing physical counts of totes and comparing them to system-generated tote manifests, and promptly communicating any discrepancies to leadership for resolution., • Review and analyze application screens and pop-up windows to ensure all HIPAA-sensitive information is managed in compliance with established procedures., • Perform chain of custody (COC) audits by recording the total number of bins created by location for each production day, verifying that system counts match physical counts, and obtaining pickup driver signatures for the correct tote counts., • Complete proof of delivery (POD) tasks by duplicating and recording shipping label numbers onto physical receipts, verifying the accuracy of all entries, and signing off on completed POD documentation., • Restock workstations with daily supplies, ensuring all materials, products, and equipment needed for operations are available and organized., • Carry out basic cleaning duties such as taking out trash, wiping down surfaces, and sweeping to maintain a clean and orderly work area., • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records related to shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, products, parts, supplies, and equipment., • Check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintain records of received goods, and reject unsatisfactory items as required., • Identify missing, lost, or damaged materials and promptly notify a supervisor to ensure issues are addressed., • Maintain accurate inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse, including conducting audits and cycle counts as needed., • Ensure all merchandise is safely and securely packed, labeled, and prepared for shipping according to established procedures., • Scan labels to confirm that products are shipped to the correct destinations and that all documentation is complete and accurate., • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks/dollies to move products and supplies within the facility., • Collaborate effectively within a team environment, communicate clearly with colleagues, and support a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency., • Follow oral instructions, manage multiple tasks, and maintain composure and productivity under time pressure and high-volume conditions. Essential Skills • High school diploma or equivalent experience., • At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse, retail, or customer service setting., • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)., • Ability to handle HIPAA-sensitive information and knowledge of federal and state HIPAA requirements., • Experience with data entry and basic administrative tasks related to shipping and receiving., • Ability to follow oral instructions accurately and consistently., • Capability to perform continuous and repetitive work while maintaining attention to detail and quality., • Ability to work effectively under stress and time pressure while meeting productivity and accuracy goals., • Sound judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced production environment., • Ability to switch between various tasks without losing efficiency or composure., • Strong teamwork and communication skills to interact appropriately with others in a team environment., • Basic mathematics skills for counting, verifying quantities, and reconciling inventory., • Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks/dollies, and handheld scanning units., • Ability to stand and walk continuously, read and hear instructions clearly, and use simple and firm grasps to handle products and equipment., • Ability to occasionally lift and carry 10 to 20 pounds and perform stooping, kneeling, and reaching overhead and at wrist level. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in a large-scale distribution, pharmacy, or warehouse production environment., • Audit, cycle counting, or quality assurance within a warehouse or distribution facility., • Experience with inventory control, including tracking merchandise entering and exiting a facility., • Comfort working with environmentally hazardous medications while following safety protocols., • Ability to utilize ladders to retrieve supplies and products safely., • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation., • Attention to detail when checking goods against purchase orders or invoices and rejecting unsatisfactory items., • Experience in loading and unloading products in a distribution or warehouse setting., • Previous exposure to distribution operations, including scanning labels and verifying shipment destinations. Work Environment This position is based in a large-scale pharmacy and warehouse production environment within a distribution facility. The role involves continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, frequent use of handheld scanners and basic computer systems, and regular interaction with inventory, totes, and shipping materials. You will occasionally work in a refrigerated walk-in area, spending approximately 5% to 7% of your time in cold conditions, and may occasionally handle environmentally hazardous medications while following established safety protocols. The work involves occasionally lifting and carrying 10 to 20 pounds, stooping, kneeling, reaching overhead and at wrist level, using ladders to retrieve supplies, and frequently using firm and simple grasps to handle products and equipment. The schedule initially follows a Monday through Friday shift from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for the first six weeks, with a possible transition based on business needs to a Sunday through Thursday schedule, including a Sunday shift from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and weekday shifts from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and quality standards, with attire appropriate for a warehouse and pharmacy distribution setting.
