Facilities Maintenance Mechanic II (Temporary) Position Profile: This position is responsible for the effective and efficient preventative maintenance and repair of all facility infrastructure, associated equipment and production related items. The position supports various activities and projects to ensure the goals, objectives and strategic initiatives of the Marotta organization are achieved. In addition, effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people both internal and external to the organization is essential to successfully support operations. Key Responsibilities • Inspect buildings and associated structures to detect and identify malfunctions, damage, adverse conditions, evaluate functional systems and document accordingly for repair/resolution, • Perform electrical maintenance activities to include but not limited to basic troubleshooting, replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches, outlets, incandescent, fluorescent and LED bulbs/lamps, ballast, sockets, fuses, appliances, etc.) install and bend conduit, pull wire, and install circuit breakers using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools, • Perform plumbing maintenance inclusive of replacement or repair of leaks in drains, faucets, toilets, urinals, replacing drains hoses, septic system inspections, installation of low-pressure pneumatic lines, perform advanced troubleshooting, etc., • Perform cutting, bending and fabrication of HP gas lines., • Perform basic surface preparation, spackle, sanding, painting, carpentry and misc. masonry work activities, • Perform basic HVAC activities, work inclusive of adjusting thermostats, pneumatic controls, HVAC and electric energy management systems, condenser cleaning, pump repair, repairing water, gas, electric and pneumatic lines and basic troubleshooting/repair to ensure proper equipment operation, • Perform scheduled PM on facility system(s) and support equipment (as req'd.), • Able to utilize volt & multi-meters, hydrometer, amp probe, data line toner/tracer, various wrench & saw types, grinders, drills/hammer drills, tube bending equipment, misc. hand-tools, etc. May require assistance/training in the use and application of some tools., • Perform basic assembly and relocation of office & production furniture/equipment, reconfigure building areas. Assist in the planning, layout and coordination in the reconfiguration of building areas., • Assist in providing guidance and support to Vendors and Contractors (as req'd.), • Effectively plan the sequence of activities in advance to facilitate repairs and project completion, • Adjust work assignments/priorities based on information from various management groups and production schedules, • Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as req'd.), • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal system requirements., • Contribute to a positive, cooperative and safe work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization, • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals, • Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values, goals and objectives, • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems in a timely manner, • Assume responsibility and accountability for related duties, special projects and miscellaneous assignments, • Ensure that the work area is clean, safe, secure, and well maintained, • Participate in snow removal and facility maintenance during "off-hour" scheduled activities What We're Looking For • High School/Trade Diploma or GED, • Technical Certification(s) or degree preferred, • 2-4 years' experience of mechanical hands-on repair or related experience in a manufacturing environment, • Must have a valid driver's license, • Ability to operate/drive PU Trucks, • Must be A US Citizen, • Forklift and Scissor Lift certification required, • Able to read/interpret technical data requirements, building/structural prints, specifications, schematics, etc., • Self-motivated with ability to effectively interface well with varying levels of employees, • Possess the visual acuity required for detailed inspection and repair activities, • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and effective verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, • Work effectively in both an independent and team-based environment, • Computer literate/PC experience, with MS Office software, • Possess good organizational skills, attentiveness to detail and ability to prioritize tasks, • Ability to perform well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Work Environment & Physical Demands • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration, • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners/copier machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as req'd)., • Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc., • Some travel may be required for this position (5-10%), • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are 8 hours, Monday through Friday. Overtime, off-hours and weekend work are required, as job duties and schedules demand, • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear., • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus., • The employee is regularly required to stand at length (7-8 hours, daily), walk consistently, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility., • Snow removal (inclusive of snow shoveling) is required, • This position requires the ability to skillfully use measuring instruments, hand, and power tools Pay Range: $29 - $35/hr Many of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries.
