Job Title: Human Resource Generalist / Payroll Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Human Resource and Payroll Manager oversees the full range of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and benefits administration, while also managing the company’s payroll process. This individual ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll, manages compensation strategies, and plays a key role in HR policy development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness. The HR and Payroll Manager serves as a key liaison between HR and finance, ensuring a seamless flow of information and data accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Human Resource Management: • Recruitment & Staffing: Oversee recruitment and hiring processes, ensuring a strong pipeline of talent for all departments. Work with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, post job openings, and screen candidates., • Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, resolve workplace issues, and maintain a positive work environment., • Performance Management: Coordinate performance appraisal processes, provide support for employee feedback, goal-setting, and development planning., • Training & Development: Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs to ensure continuous learning and compliance., • Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with labor laws and employment regulations (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, etc.). Update and enforce HR policies and procedures., • Employee Benefits: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company perks. Serve as the point of contact for employee benefit inquiries., • Payroll Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly/monthly payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and deductions. Responsible for review of New Hires, Terminations, Salary and Position changes., • Payroll System Management: Manage payroll systems and software, ensuring that data is accurately maintained. Troubleshoot issues and work with IT or payroll vendors for system improvements. Responsible for resolving issues as they arise and informing management as necessary., • Tax Compliance: Ensure all payroll taxes are filed accurately and on time, including federal, state, and local taxes. Stay up to date on changes in tax laws and regulations., • Compensation Strategy: Support the development of compensation strategies, including salary surveys, pay structures, and bonus programs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (required)., • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years focused on payroll management., • Proven experience with payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance in a mid-to-large organization., • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and employee relations strategies., • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in payroll processing and reporting., • Proficiency with payroll software and systems. Extensive knowledge of the payroll function and payroll taxes., • High Level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality., • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with employees at all levels., • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Full-time, on-site or hybrid., • Occasional evening/weekend hours during payroll processing periods or critical HR initiatives., • Collaborative work environment with close interaction across departments (HR, Finance, IT, etc.).
