Job Description Job Purpose The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, and maintain production of all JESPY facilities and equipment according to safe and productive maintenance systems and processes. This Technician is responsible for staying abreast of current trends as they relate to the department and staying aligned with best practices. This Technician, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, is responsible for monitoring all repairs of the agency sites. The position is also responsible for assisting with maintenance of all JESPY vehicles, including registration and insurance state compliance. Essential Functions • Responsible for maintenance (interior and exterior) of all JESPY properties, • Assist in the evaluation of the need for renovations, • Assist in obtaining estimates for contracted work on JESPY property as required, • Assist in monitoring maintenance/repair project progress through completion, • Monitor status of all JESPY vehicles for agency and state requirements, • Coordinate maintenance of all JESPY vehicles as required, • Cooperate with the state and municipal, i.e., Fire Department, and other agencies in any inspection or investigation, • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, evaluate and make adjustments., • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities., • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions., • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties., • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper manager., • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas., • Participate in the preparation and administration of the program budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures, • Monitor and track any expenditure on the supplied credit card and report all expenditures to the Facilities Manager., • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Office Competency • Customer/Client Focus, • Technical Capacity, • Ethical Conduct, • Communication Proficiency, • Results Driven, • Initiative, • Results Driven, • Collaboration Skills Commitment to Core Value • Adhere strictly to HIPAA requirements and all agency confidentiality guidelines., • Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines by completing all mandated safety training and applying safe work practices in daily tasks., • Establish positive, balanced relationships with clients, as demonstrated by:, • treatment of individuals with respect and dignity and in an age and culturally appropriate manner., • a commitment towards the individual's rights and responsibilities; and, • establishment of clear boundaries that allow for productive interactions. Educational Requirements • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. Work Experience Requirement • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices, • Experience performing routine maintenance, • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC a plus Skills/Abilities • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary, • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches,, • Strong organizational and follow up skills, • Eye for detail, • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, • Professional presentation and attitude, • Strong time management skills Position Type/Expected Hours of Work • This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days may vary, including evenings and weekends as needed. Special Working Conditions/Physical/Requirements – Working Environment • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
