ppGradiant is seeking exceptional researchers who hold a PhD (with no more than 8 years of full-time equivalent research experience) and are interested in pursuing a research project within its team, in the framework of the Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026. /p h3About Gradiant /h3 pGradiant (GRAD) is a private Research and Technology Organization (RTO) based in Vigo, Spain, with strong foundations on telecommunications and related ICT disciplines. GRAD aims to improve the competitiveness of companies through transfer of knowledge in the areas of connectivity, intelligence, and security. /p pOver the last 17 years, GRAD has developed more than 340 different RDI projects, which includes over 45 European projects, becoming one of the main drivers of technological innovation in Galicia (Spain). /p pGRADIANT is backed by a board that includes representatives of the three Galician universities (Vigo, Santiago and A Coruña) and companies: Abanca, Altia, Arteixo Telecom, Egatel, Indra, Plexus, R, Telefónica, Televés; and INEO business association, which represents most of ICT Galician companies. The commitment with quality is a constant from the beginning. Nine months after starting the activity, GRADIANT achieved the Quality Management UNE-EN ISO 9001:2008; and one year later, UNE RDI Management Systems was obtained. /p pIn 2011, Gradiant was included in the demanding state registration of Technological Innovation Centres (known in Spanish as CIT). Since 2018, Gradiant has held the Certification in Information Security Management Systems UNE-EN ISO/IEC 27001. /p pAs an advanced RD center, GRADIANT has expertise in many of the aspects of the state of the art in AI. Specifically, its researchers have published more than 30 contributions in the last 5 years in relevant journals and conferences. /p pAlso, GRADIANT has been an active participant in many international projects, where its main contribution has been the development of state-of-the-art AI systems for several use cases, including but not limited to AI payloads for autonomous aircrafts, AI algorithms deployment in FPGA, AI algorithms applied to manufacturing and multivariate time-series and AI applied to Natural Language Processing. /p pGRADIANT is an RD centre organized in three main technical areas, each of them with a clear focus and expertise in a defined technical field. For this FWP, three of those areas will be involved in the development of the described activities: /p ul liThe Intelligent Systems area, with expertise in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data applied to several vertical use cases, especially those related to multi-sensor applications in manufacturing, health, or agri-food. /li liThe Multimodal Information area, with expertise in Artificial Intelligence and specially Deep Learning for image and audio processing for different applications, ranging from object detection and classification to document forgery detection and UAS navigation support, among others. /li liThe Advanced Communications area, with expertise in research, design and development of new generation wireless communications systems, with special focus on 5G/6G and satellite technologies, signal intelligence solutions, technologies for autonomous systems (UAVs, UGVs and USVs) and new quantum and photonic technologies, with application mainly in the fields of Telecommunications, Aerospace and Security and Defence. /li /ul pThe combined knowledge of these three areas will guarantee that any requirement of the proposed work will be met, thus ensuring a satisfying result for the RD project. /p pApproximately 90% of GRADIANT staff are Telecommunications Engineers. Of a total of more than 240 highly qualified workers, 27 are in possession of a Ph.D. in technical specialties. /p h3Project Overview /h3 pThe project’s main objective needs to be aligned with the following key concepts of bneuromorphic computing /b: /p ul liThird generation artificial neural networks: New mathematical and computational models that mimic the function of biological neurons and their interconnection in the brain. /li liParallelism and energy efficiency: The human brain is efficient in terms of energy consumption and massive parallel processing capacity. Neurocomputing seeks to replicate this parallelism to perform complex tasks with a fraction of the energy consumption of traditional systems. This is specially interesting for AI-on the edge use cases. /li /ul pTo achieve this, the following technological topics are proposed: /p ul liReview, expansion, and updating of documentation on the state of the art in neuromorphic computing applied to computer vision. Analysis of new publications, launches of new hardware devices or software tools relevant to the field of neurocomputing, and contextualization of their relevance to project objectives. /li liResearch on neuromorphic vision sensors (DVS) and how their characteristics (event-based information, low throughput) can be integrated into use cases and applications with neuromorphic computing. /li liResearch into new architectures of neural networks based on impulses (SNNs or Spiking Neural Networks) and their application for the analysis of video data (event-based) and other data types. /li liResearch into frameworks and technologies for deploying SNN into specific hardware for neuromorphic models, as well as the design of specific chips or compilation into FPGAs. /li liExploration of potential applications and real-world use cases for employing vision-based neuromorphic computing systems (autonomous vehicles, manufacturing and industry, healthcare, etc.). /li /ul h3Criteria for MSCA-PF /h3 ul liCandidates in possession of PhD at the call deadline. /li liMaximum of 8 years of research experience after PhD (with exception of career breaks or work outside research). /li liMobility rule: must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline bEU Call deadline: 9th September 2026. /b /li liMore information: here. /li /ul h3Next steps /h3 pIf you meet the requirements, send us your application, we need you to: /p ul liYour CV /li liA short description of your proposed research. /li /ul pOur team will assess all expressions of interest and select the most promising candidates to send an application to the MSCA PF CALL. /p pWe provide tailored guidance on scientific, strategic, and procedural aspects of your application. /p pWe will receive proposals until August 15th. /p h3What we offer /h3 p23 days vacation + your birthday + December 24th and 31st. /p p#TroulaDays What is this? At Gradiant you can choose one Friday off per month, so you can disconnect and enjoy a longer weekend. /p pWe provide you with all the necessary equipment so you can work comfortably. /p pWork-life balance. Your work-life balance is really important to us. /p pYou can write to us at and we will be happy to help you. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
