ppThe Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Manager to lead the Mechanical Workshop, within the Scientific Core Facilities. /p pICIQ is one of the world’s internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: bSustainable /b bCatalysis /b, bRenewable /b bEnergy /b and bHealth /b. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on /p pThe candidate will be in charge of the ICIQ’s Mechanical Workshop, which supports ICIQ researchers and external customers in terms of design and fabrication of parts and setups. The mechanical workshop purpose is to design and fabricate (machining and 3D printing) mechanical components of different materials (SS, Teflon, aluminum, polymers…) and assemble customized setups. In addition, the workshop is responsible for small lab equipment repair. /p pThe development of these tasks results in the following capacities: /p ul liPrototyping. /li liAssembling of new singular purpose-designed measurement devices or reaction setups. /li liRepairing and improving commercial devices. /li /ul h3Tasks and Responsibilities /h3 ul liGeneral management of the Unit (equipment maintenance, invoicing, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, service requests, repairs, etc.). /li liSupervision of the Unit technician and, occasionally, interns. /li liDesign (using Solid Works) and fabrication of metal parts (machining) and plastic components (machining and 3D printing). /li liDesign and assembly of research setups. /li liRepair of small laboratory equipment (vacuum pumps, chillers, stirrers, etc.). /li liLogging and tracking of the Unit's work. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liAdvanced Technician in specific professional training: Advanced Training in Design for the Mechanical Manufacturing and/or Production for the Mechanization and/or Automation and Industrial Robotics (Técnico/a Superior de Formación Profesional, Grado Superior de Diseño para la Fabricación Mecánica y/o Grado Superior de Producción para Mecanización y/o Grado Superior en Automatización y Robótica Industrial). /li liAdvanced knowledge of Solid Works. /li liAdvanced knowledge of lathe and milling machine operation. /li liAdvanced knowledge on 3D printing (SLS, FDM and resin). /li liWide knowledge and experience using different tools and accessories. /li liImaginative, creative and curious person. /li liProblem solving oriented. /li liGood English level. /li /ul h3Valued qualities /h3 ul liGood interpersonal and communication skills. /li liOrganized person. /li liTeam worker. /li /ul h3We Offer /h3 ul liA permanent full-time interim employment contract. /li liRemuneration aligned with the company’s salary policy, within the PSRCU1 41.200€ based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. /li liAn international and dynamic environment within a multidisciplinary team. /li liAnnual salary split into 12 monthly payments. /li liFlexible 37.5 hours working week. /li liFree parking available at our facilities. /li liContinuous training plan to support your professional development. /li liGood connection to public transportation networks. /li liFacilities with spacious areas, abundant natural light, and a functional, well‑designed environment aimed at enhancing people’s wellbeing. /li liIncorporation: September 2026. /li /ul h3Recruitment Principles /h3 pICIQ follows the principles of Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment (OTM-R) and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as established by the European Commission. /p pICIQ applies a gender equality opportunity policy and a non-discrimination policy on the basis of age, ethnic or social origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, language and disability. /p pICIQ is committed to promoting a work‑life balance for its employees and offers flexible working hours. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
