IENAI SPACE is an early-stage startup located in Madrid, developing an end-to-end ecosystem of in-space mobility products, including propulsion systems and engineering SaaS. We are a highly innovative company in the “New Space” sector; the team is made up of a dynamic and multidisciplinary group of engineers, PhDs and developers, looking to revolutionize space mobility for the adoption of propulsion products in the smallest of satellites. We recently kickstarted our commercial phase with our first product: 360™, a Mission and Space Mobility analysis SaaS. As a Tax Accountant, your mission will be to manage the full accounting and tax cycle, ensuring compliance with Spanish regulations while supporting the company's financial operations. You will play a key role in R&D tax incentives, grant accounting and the internalization of our accounting processes, working in close collaboration with the Operations Manager. Your main responsibilities will include: • Control and recording of fixed assets: additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation., • Management of month-end and year-end closing entries., • Support in the preparation of annual accounts and financial statements., • Cost allocation to active projects and capitalization of R&D expenditure as intangible assets., • Control of temporary differences and recording of deferred tax assets and liabilities., • Accounting for capital and operating grants in accordance with the Spanish General Chart of Accounts (PGC)., • Preparation and filing of tax returns., • Monitoring of the tax calendar and compliance with AEAT deadlines., • Management of R&D&I tax deductions under Corporate Income Tax. What is your department like? You will be part of our Administration and Accounting team, which plays a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly. This team is responsible for managing day-to-day financial and administrative tasks, ensuring compliance, supporting other departments, and helping the company stay organized and efficient as we grow. Their mission is to provide reliable, agile support across all areas of the business. What will make you succeed? We are looking for (must have): • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, or a related field., • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role combining accounting and taxation., • Proven experience with public grants or R&D projects (CDTI, AEI, Horizon Europe)., • Proficient use of Holded or an equivalent accounting ERP., • Strong command of the Spanish General Chart of Accounts (PGC 2007) and current Spanish tax regulations., • Knowledge of R&D&I tax deductions under Corporate Income Tax and accounting capitalization of research projects., • Familiarity with public grant accounting (capital vs. operating)., • Proficiency in office tools: advanced Excel and Google Workspace., • High organizational capacity and attention to detail., • Autonomy and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment., • Proactive approach to identifying and correcting deviations., • Strong communication skills and team player mindset. We also value (nice to have): • A Master's in Tax Advisory or Accounting and Auditing is a plus., • Experience in technology-based companies or startups is a plus., • Fluent in spoken and written English.
