ABOUT WTTC The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is the global authority on the economic and social contribution of Travel & Tourism. WTTC promotes sustainable growth for the Travel & Tourism sector, working with governments and international institutions to create jobs, drive exports and generate prosperity. Council Members are the Chairs, Presidents and Chief Executives of the world’s leading private sector Travel & Tourism businesses. Alongside our Council Members and Board of Vice-Chairs, OPCO and Executive Committee (EXCOM) representatives from our Member organisations, WTTC professionals are responsible for guiding and supporting the work of the Council in fulfilment of its mission. PURPOSE The Finance & Administration Director will oversee WTTC’s financial management, planning, reporting, and administrative operations from its new European Headquarters located in Madrid, Spain. This position reports to the COO and will play a key operational role in maintaining the organisation’s financial health and integrity. It is a hands-on and strategic position responsible for preparing and presenting financial reports, ensuring accurate and transparent data, and supporting the Interim President & CEO through the provision of clear, well-structured financial information. The role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality outputs. The Finance & Administration Director will prepare reports and presentations for OpCo and EXCOM, ensuring that all financial data is complete, accurate, and presented in a way that allows the numbers to speak for themselves. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Financial Management • Manage all aspects of WTTC’s financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounting, reporting, and treasury management., • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis., • Produce detailed financial reports and presentations for the Interim President & CEO, OpCo, and EXCOM meetings, ensuring that all figures are accurate, clear, and ready for presentation., • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitor expenditure, and identify risks or variances., • Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements., • Manage cash flow, payments, invoices, and reconciliations daily., • Liaise with auditors, banks, and financial advisors as necessary., • Provide timely and accurate financial information requested by the Head of Administrative Support., • Personally perform core financial and accounting activities to ensure consistency and quality. 2. Administrative Management & Operations • Oversee and perform administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations at the new Headquarters., • Manage procurement, contracts, and supplier payments., • Support HR with payroll, benefits administration, and employee-related financial processes., • Ensure compliance with employment, data protection, and operational regulations., • Maintain accurate financial and administrative records for audit and reporting., • Contribute directly to day-to-day administrative support where required, ensuring operational efficiency. 3. Governance & Compliance • Ensure ongoing compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements relevant to the European HQ in Madrid, Spain., • Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external audits., • Support the Audit and Finance Committees with regular financial updates, documentation, and presentations., • Apply and maintain internal financial and administrative policies consistently., • Ensure all financial and administrative processes are well-documented, traceable, and audit-ready. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE • Qualified accountant (Equivalent international certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) strongly preferred., • Solid knowledge of Spain’s accounting, tax, and regulatory frameworks with international experience., • Minimum 15 years’ solid experience in finance and administration., • Experience working within a Global international, membership-based, or not-for-profit organisation., • Previous experience in the Travel & Tourism sector, or within an organisation linked to global policy, industry representation, or advocacy, is highly desirable., • Proven track record in financial planning, management reporting, and budgeting in a non-profit, membership, or international organization context., • Experience preparing budgets, reports, and forecasts within a not-for-profit, membership, or international organisation., • Excellent command of accounting and ERP systems (experience with Sage, Salesforce, or similar platforms desirable)., • Experience preparing materials for Boards and governance committees.
