Department: Finance Locations: Remote Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Role Overview CFARER is a fast-growing maritime software company digitising operations for vessel managers, ship operators, and fleet owners worldwide. Our SaaS platform is scaling quickly and we need someone to own the entire revenue stream that flows from it. This is a hands-on Revenue Lead role built for someone who thrives in a startup environment, takes full ownership without being managed, and understands the mechanics of SaaS revenue: MRR, ARR, LTV, churn, subscription lifecycles, and what it means to keep a recurring revenue engine clean, accurate, and growing. You won't just process invoices. You will be the single source of truth for revenue at CFARER, from deal close in Salesforce through subscription management, billing, collections, recognition, and board-level reporting. What you own: Subscription & SaaS Revenue Management Own the full subscription lifecycle in Salesforce, new contracts, upgrades, renewals, downgrades, and churn. Maintain MRR and ARR schedules with precision; flag movements (expansion, contraction, churn) in real time. Track LTV per customer segment and surface trends to the CFO and leadership team. Manage deferred revenue schedules and ensure revenue is recognised in the correct period under applicable standards. Act as the system owner for revenue-related data flows between Salesforce and NetSuite, ensure they stay clean and in sync. Invoicing & Billing Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and on time, no delays, no errors. Manage billing schedules across subscription tiers, annual/monthly cycles, and multi-year contracts. Validate contracts and booking details in Salesforce before any invoice is raised. Coordinate with Sales on pricing, terms, and approvals; own the final billing output. Collections & Accounts Receivable Own the AR ledger in NetSuite, apply payments, reconcile daily, and maintain a clean aging report. Run a proactive collections cadence; follow up on overdue accounts without being prompted. Resolve billing disputes end-to-end, coordinating with Sales and customers directly. Drive DSO down as a KPI you are personally accountable for. Revenue Reporting Deliver monthly MRR/ARR, churn, and LTV dashboards for leadership and board reporting. Prepare and post all revenue journal entries in NetSuite; reconcile AR and deferred revenue accounts at month-end. Own revenue variance analysis, know what moved, why it moved, and what it means. Support audit-readiness and compliance with revenue recognition standards. Process & Systems Ownership Own and improve the end-to-end revenue process, identify gaps, build fixes, and document everything. Ensure no deal sits unbilled and no renewal slips through; proactively chase Sales for pending bookings. Drive automation and scalability as the business grows — you build it so it doesn't break at 2×. What you bring: Experience: 5–7 years in SaaS revenue accounting, AR, and billing. NetSuite: Mandatory, advanced hands-on: AR, deferred revenue, revenue recognition, reporting. Salesforce: Sales Cloud, opportunity management, contract validation, subscription tracking. SaaS metrics: Strong command of MRR, ARR, LTV, churn, expansion revenue. Revenue recognition: Solid grasp of recognition schedules, IFRS 15/ ASC 606 principles, and deferred revenue. Excel / Sheets: Advanced, reconciliation models, variance analysis, MRR waterfall builds. Mindset: Ownership-first, startup pace, you close loops, you don't wait to be chased. Bonus: Experience in B2B SaaS or maritime / logistics software a strong plus.
