These teams cover a range of areas, including research data and software, infrastructure for centralized and federated analysis and learning, etc. From a technical perspective, TechBioLab’s activities focus on developing infrastructures that support Life Sciences research, including software components for bioinformatics, research data management– especially in healthcare–and scientific and technical benchmarking of research software in close collaboration with various communities and projects. Special attention is given to technological developments enabling the analysis of sensitive data in federated settings. This approach facilitates the generation of AI models without requiring data to be moved from its original site. Complementing these efforts, the lab also contributes to the development of Trusted Research Environments that enable the use of research data on single sites under specific, configurable usage conditions. The laboratory coordinates the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB). The Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB) is the major bioinformatics platform in Spain and the Spanish node of ELIXIR. ELIXIR (European Life Science Infrastructure for Biological Information) is a European organization founded in 2014 which aims to integrate and harmonize European bioinformatics infrastructures. ELIXIR coordinates the participation of more than 22 countries; engages with other strategic European initiatives and projects, e.G. ESFRI, Research Data Alliance, EUDat and EGI; promotes specifictraining activities and workshops on ELIXIR resources, partners with industry, and play a key role in shaping the bioinformatics landscape. Within ELIXIR, the INB is responsible for the bioinformatics infrastructure offered by Spain and, therefore, should guarantee its alignment with the strategic areas put forward by ELIXIR. Since 2018, the INB has two overarching objectives: deepen the alignment of its activities with ELIXIR, and increase the translational impact of INB actions towards the Spanish National Health System (SNS). This programme will prepare clinical data in Spain for secondary use, including medical imaging, structured and non-structured clinical data and genomics, considering all the legal provisions for each possible use and setting. This programme will involve the liaison with diverse stakeholders, including hospitals, the ISCIII, companies in the biomedical sector, the Spanish Medicines Agency and biomedical researchers, among others. All developments will be aligned with the European initiatives in the area, including those from ELIXIR, 1+Million Genomes, the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health and data-sharing projects such as FAIR4Health, HealthyCloud and TEHDAS. In 2023 the INB, the Spanish Node of ELIXIR, renovated its portfolio of bioinformatics resources, including platforms, databases, individual tools and web-services. Offer Description The position is funded within the DOMMINO project, a bilateral research collaboration between ICMAB-CSIC and Imperial College London aimed at generating fundamental knowledge for the development of next-generation organic energy technologies, including organic solar cells, thermoelectrics and electronic devices. We offer a postdoctoral position in computational materials science within the DOMMINO project, a collaborative project between ICMAB-CSIC (Spain) and Imperial College London (UK) aimed at advancing organic energy technologies and coordinated by Prof. Mariano Campoy-Quiles (ICMAB-CSIC). The successful candidate will lead theoretical and computational activities concerned with the structure–property relationships that control electrical transport and thermal transport in organic semiconductors, the coupling between these, and the mechanisms of doping organic semiconductors. The successful candidate will work closely with experimental and theoretical partners across the consortium. They will be co-supervised by Prof. Jenny Nelson (Imperial College London), and Dr. Riccardo Rurali (ICMAB-CSIC). Main tasks Develop atomistic and coarse-grained models of the structure and dynamics of molecular semiconductors, including conjugated polymers. Perform molecular dynamics simulations to investigate structural organization and molecular connectivity. Carry out electronic-structure calculations to explore the impact of structure on electronic properties and charge transport mechanisms. Calculate the thermal conductivity of systems of interest using molecular dynamics models. Develop and validate theoretical models exploring the connection between thermal conductivity and electronic mobility in different classes of material. Study the mechanism of polaron formation and dynamics, including the role of doping, and its influence on electronic and thermal transport. Collaborate with experimental researchers to interpret electrical and thermal transport measurements and establish structure-property relationships. Provide support in molecular modelling techniques to other consortium members. Disseminate results through publications and conference presentations. What You Will Do: • Conducting site qualification, initiation, monitoring, and close-out visits for clinical trials., • Ensuring protocol compliance, data integrity, and patient safety throughout the trial process., • Collaborating with investigators and site staff to facilitate smooth study conduct., • Performing data review and resolution of queries to maintain high-quality clinical data., • Contributing to the preparation and review of study documentation, including protocols and clinical study reports. Your Profile: You will bring relevant clinical trial monitoring experience, along with the following qualifications and skills. • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field., • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Associate., • In-depth knowledge of clinical trial processes, regulations, and ICH-GCP guidelines., • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment., • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 60%).
