You will work according to modern Agile practices within a complex and high‑availability IT landscape. As part of the Proximity Hosting Solutions team, you will help deliver, maintain, automate, and support a high‑tech Market‑to‑Market, low‑latency connectivity platform used by multiple DevOps teams and Financial Markets applications. Our team manages the complete infrastructure hosted in Equinix Data Centres in Frankfurt and operated by Getronics. This environment supports critical Financial Markets platforms such as KDB, Ullink, MarketView, GEP, and Horizon—core systems enabling our client to conduct global trading activities, including on the Eurex Frankfurt Exchange. As a Wintel & Linux Engineer , your mission is to ensure our platforms remain stable, automated, secure, and ready to scale. Manage and support Windows and Linux servers Administer and maintain database systems (installation, backup, basic troubleshooting) Manage storage systems (SAN/NAS), provisioning, and performance monitoring Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Linux user access Perform system and database patching, backups, and health monitoring Develop and execute automation scripts (PowerShell/Bash) Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and database deployments Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/ARM/Bicep) Handle escalations, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement fixes Collaborate with DevOps, application, and security teams Maintain system and database documentation Platform stability, performance, and reliability Patch and Vulnerability Management Manage and execute patching cycles for Windows and Linux systems, ensuring minimal disruption and high availability Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools and security best practices Automate patch deployment and compliance checks using DevOps tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) Ensure adherence to organizational security policies, audit requirements, and compliance standards across environments Data centre disaster recovery readiness At ING, Wintel & Linux Engineer means much more than automation. You will stay up to date with the latest Platform related to DevOps, automation, observability, cloud, and infrastructure technologies through training, mentorship, certifications, and cross‑domain exposure. You are a skilled, analytical, and motivated Wintel & Linux Engineer who understands your internal customers, communicates effectively, and works well in a team. You understand that standby and occasional weekend work are part of the role, and you fully adhere to our client's risk and security processes. As a DevOps Platform Engineer, you need: Windows Server, Linux, Citrix, SQL Server Experience configuring and maintaining infrastructure in data center environments Experience with monitoring and observability systems Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025), Active Directory, GPO Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration Database: MS SQL Server / MySQL / Oracle Backup/restore, basic performance tuning, patching Storage performance monitoring and troubleshooting PowerShell, Bash Jenkins / DevOps / GitHub Actions Version control: Infrastructure as Code: Terraform / ARM / Bicep Virtualization: VMware / Hyper-V Monitoring tools ( Zabbix, Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Alertmanager, Alloy, ELK, etc.) Infrastructure pentesting processes Security/compliance monitoring Experience working in a large, complex IT environment Minimum 5 years in IT support, operations, or DevOps roles Excellent English communication skills Docker & Kubernetes basics Ansible, Puppet DevOps (pipelines, templates, YAML) Basic Oracle database knowledge Monitoring stack exposure: Zabbix, Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Alertmanager, Alloy Hybrid working for balance between focus and collaboration
