Main function and scope: We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with proven experience in distributed software systems, systems integration and networked architectures for robotics or complex embedded platforms. The successful candidate will join multidisciplinary R&D projects involving robotic systems, advanced sensing technologies and high-level software infrastructures operating in technically demanding environments. This role is focused on enabling robust communication and interoperability between robotic platforms, embedded subsystems and higher-level control or mission systems. The candidate will contribute to the design, development and validation of scalable software solutions in projects with high technical uncertainty, ambitious performance targets and strong applied research components. Core Functions: • Design and develop software architectures that connect robotic systems with network infrastructures and higher-level services., • Define and implement communication interfaces between embedded devices, robotic platforms, edge computing systems, multimodal sensors and remote applications., • Develop middleware, APIs and integration layers for distributed and heterogeneous systems., • Contribute to the design of reliable, maintainable and scalable software frameworks for operational environments., • Integrate networking, telemetry, command and control, data exchange and monitoring capabilities into robotic or cyber-physical systems., • Analyse system-level requirements and translate them into robust software designs and implementation plans., • Identify integration risks, diagnose complex failures and propose corrective actions across interfaces and subsystems., • Participate in software validation, performance evaluation and deployment activities., • Collaborate in the technical planning of multidisciplinary projects with software, electronics, control, mechanical and systems engineering teams., • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, software quality and architectural consistency. Required experience and candidate profile: • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar., • Senior-level experience in software development for distributed systems, robotics, embedded platforms or industrial/mission-critical applications., • Strong experience in systems integration, network communications and software architecture design., • Solid programming skills in C++ and Python, with the ability to develop production-quality software. Experience with communication protocols, inter-process communication, service-oriented architectures or middleware technologies., • Experience integrating software across heterogeneous environments, including embedded devices, Linux-based systems and higher-level applications., • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, modular design, testing and maintainability., • Experience with cybersecurity considerations in connected systems, • Ability to work with evolving requirements and high levels of technical uncertainty., • Fluent English, both written and spoken., • Willingness to relocate to the Canary Islands or Madrid (Torrejón)., • Eagerness to learn completely new technologies and contribute beyond a narrowly defined role. Main function and scope: We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Robotics Mechanical Design Team within PULSAR HRI, ARQUIMEA’s robotics area focused on high-performance motors, actuators and advanced robotic systems. The successful candidate will work on the design, development, integration, testing and validation of mechanical subsystems for complex mechatronic and optronic platforms. The role is especially oriented toward systems involving precision mechanics, mechanical simulation, stabilized structures, sensor payloads, pan-tilt mechanisms, actuation, environmental protection, thermal management and product-oriented mechanical design. The candidate will contribute to the development of systems including ruggedized assemblies that may integrate optical sensors, actuators, bearings, transmissions, enclosures, thermal management components and mechanical interfaces. These systems must operate reliably in technically demanding environments and require a strong balance between mechanical performance, manufacturability, robustness, maintainability and practical testing. This role is focused on hands‑on mechanical engineering: turning concepts into CAD models, drawings, prototypes, test setups, validated assemblies and production‑ready designs. The candidate will work closely with software, control, electronics, systems, manufacturing and testing teams to ensure that mechanical solutions are technically sound, buildable, testable and aligned with system‑level requirements. The candidate is not expected to be a senior expert in every area. integration, actuator integration, enclosures, structural supports and precision mechanisms., • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, 2D manufacturing drawings, bills of materials and technical documentation., • Support the mechanical development of ruggedized systems operating in demanding environments, considering stiffness, vibration, shock, sealing, corrosion, thermal behaviour, weight, manufacturability and maintainability., • Design mechanical interfaces for cameras, optical payloads, sensors, motors, actuators, electronics, cable routing, connectors and auxiliary subsystems., • Work on prototype design, assembly, integration, testing, debugging and iterative improvement of mechanical solutions., • Participate in mechanical testing and validation
