Principal Demand Forecasting Science (f/m/d) At SKLUM we are a digital company driven by curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love for the good life — united by our passion for bringing the latest home décor trends from around the world into every home. To achieve this, our commitment is to attract, retain, and develop the best talent, in a multicultural environment committed to diversity and equal opportunity. We are looking for a Principal Demand Forecasting Scientist for our Digital and AI team, to design and build an advanced forecasting and supply optimization system that integrates proprietary data, external signals, and human expertise — creating a scalable decision-making engine across manufacturing, inventory planning, and distribution. The role bridges business needs, statistical rigour, and modern AI to improve forecast accuracy and operational efficiency, with a central focus on embedding domain expertise directly into the modelling process through a human-in-the-loop approach. What you’ll be doing • Design and build an end-to-end demand forecasting and supply optimization system, integrating proprietary data, external signals, and human expertise, • Translate complex business requirements into analytical frameworks spanning manufacturing, inventory planning, and distribution optimization, • Develop and validate forecasting models across multiple time horizons, incorporating historical performance, product lifecycle dynamics, seasonality, and macroeconomic indicators, • Build a human-in-the-loop mechanism that systematically embeds domain expertise into the modelling process, continuously refining outputs as expert input evolves, • Prototype, iterate, and benchmark solutions rigorously — moving efficiently from hypothesis to experiment to validated improvement, • Transition validated models into production, supporting real-time decision-making across supply chain operations, • Integrate solutions into enterprise systems (ERP, PIM, and proprietary platforms) to drive measurable operational impact Why work with us This role sits at the core of SKLUM's Digital and AI team, directly shaping how supply chain decisions are made. You will build a capability that improves forecast accuracy, optimises inventory and distribution, and enhances operational resilience — work that directly influences cost efficiency, product availability, and the end customer experience. Benefits you can enjoy • private health insurance, • relocation policy, • employee discounts Join our dream, join the Sklum Team! What we'd like to see • Proven experience in demand forecasting using statistical, ML, and AI-based methods, with sound judgment on when to apply each, • Strong foundation in statistics, time series analysis, and advanced analytics, • Hands-on experience building end-to-end pipelines: data wrangling, modelling, and deployment at scale, • Track record of rapid prototyping and iterative development with rigorous performance evaluation, • Comfort operating in production environments and transitioning prototype solutions into scalable systems, • Experience integrating models into enterprise systems such as ERP or PIM is a strong advantage, • Business acumen to frame operational problems analytically and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, • English at a professional level is required At our company, we are firmly committed to guaranteeing equal opportunity for all people in our workplace, building an inclusive and equitable environment. We value each employee for their talents, skills, and contributions, regardless of their race, religion, colour, origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.
