Role Description We are looking for a Senior Sales & Business Development Manager to drive Merit’s commercial growth in Europe and beyond . Based in Barcelona, this hybrid role is central to expanding our footprint, securing new business opportunities, and strengthening relationships with top-tier clients and partners. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing the full sales cycle, and building long-term strategic relationships with C-level stakeholders across multiple sectors, including banking, fintech, travel, and retail. What you’ll do: • Lead business development efforts across Europe, identifying and pursuing new opportunities in the SaaS, fintech, and loyalty ecosystems ., • Build and nurture strong relationships with senior decision-makers at banks, retailers, airlines, and strategic partners., • Develop tailored proposals, negotiate high-value contracts, and close complex deals., • Collaborate with internal teams (tech, product, partnerships, marketing) to design innovative solutions that meet client needs., • Represent Merit at industry events, conferences, and client meetings , serving as a brand ambassador., • Own the sales pipeline, deliver accurate forecasting, and report on commercial performance., • Identify new markets and verticals for Merit’s expansion, shaping go-to-market strategies., • Mentor and guide junior team members, contributing to the growth of the sales function. Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or Account Management, ideally in SaaS, fintech, loyalty, or digital engagement industries ., • Proven track record of closing large, complex, and international deals., • Strong negotiation skills and ability to structure high-value commercial agreements., • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging C-level executives ., • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities., • Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales enablement platforms., • Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, resilient, and results-driven., • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Economics, or related field., • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent from a top Business School) highly desirable., • Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages (Spanish, French, Arabic) are a strong plus.
