Job title: Sales Director, Spain Location: Madrid, Spain Reporting to: General Manager We are seeking a Sales Director to lead our commercial organization and drive the next phase of growth in Spain. This is a critical leadership role, with full responsibility for sales strategy, execution, and performance across a diverse and growing portfolio. About the role The Sales Director plays a key role in leading the sales organization and driving sustainable growth across the company’s portfolio. This role is responsible for shaping and executing the sales strategy, maximizing revenue and market share, and strengthening customer engagement across channels, while ensuring that all activities are carried out in full compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. You will lead a multi-channel sales organization spanning private clinics (direct sales model), public hospitals (Key Account Management), and primary care/consumer health. Managing a team of professionals, you will have a clear mandate to accelerate growth, enhance customer engagement, and unlock new opportunities. Key priorities include expanding in the private healthcare sector, particularly in specialized areas such as ophthalmology, driving the evolution toward an omnichannel engagement model, advancing the development and adoption of CRM tools and data-driven decision-making, and ensuring strong alignment across Sales, Marketing, and Medical. Sales Strategy & Performance Define and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue, market share, and profitability objectives. Develop territory plans and account strategies based on customer insights, market dynamics, and competitor activity. Ensure resources are prioritized effectively to maximize performance in high-potential areas. Drive the transition toward innovative, omnichannel engagement models to expand reach and impact. Regularly review sales performance, adjusting strategy to capture new opportunities and mitigate risks. Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Establish clear goals and accountability frameworks. Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance. Ensure sales teams are fully trained and equipped for successful product launches . Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with marketing, medical, market access, and regulatory colleagues to align execution with company strategy. Contribute insights from the field to inform broader business planning and decision-making. Compliance & Governance Ensure all sales activities adhere to compliance standards, industry codes, and company SOPs. Promote ethical practices and integrity in all customer interactions. What we are looking for Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or related field (MBA desirable). 10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences sales, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles. Proven experience managing multi-channel sales teams (hospital, primary care and/or private sector). Strong experience in selling products and/or services to private clinics, preferably within ophthalmology or other specialty care areas. Expertise in territory planning, pipeline management, and sales operations. Experience in building and executing omnichannel strategies and improving customer engagement models. Proven track record in CRM development, adoption and optimization Experience in product launches and lifecycle management. Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and P&L responsibility.
