Why This Role Matters As GreendaAI scales, strong agronomic expertise is essential to ensure our technology remains grounded in real farming conditions. We’re looking for a Senior Agronomist with deep, hands-on experience advising Spanish farmers and a commitment to Integrated Pest Management (IPM). It is essential that you have extensive experience with the Spanish ecosystem, culture, and language and knowledge on a variety of fruit and vegetable crops. We are focusing on the Valencian Community, Murcia, and Andalucia; therefore, the our ideal candidate could be stationed in any of these regions. This role ensures that Greenda’s solutions are scientifically sound, practically relevant, and trusted by farmers. You will serve as a key point of contact for growers, maintaining a high advisory standard, and translating real-world agronomic challenges into continuous improvements of our digital tools. This role is ideal for an experienced agronomist who understands both the technical and human realities of farming. We need you to know first-hand about pest pressure, crop phenology, economic constraints, and evolving active substance regulations. What You’ll Do Lead GreendaAI’s agronomic advisory function, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and practical recommendations for farmers. Provide direct agronomic advice (written/digital) to farmers on crop health, pest and disease management, monitoring strategies, thresholds, treatment timing, and IPM approaches. Handle incoming farmer inquiries through GreendaAI’s support channels, ensuring timely, practical, and context-aware responses. Decide when to manage cases directly and when to coordinate with GreendaAI’s external agronomist network. Act as the central coordination point between farmers, external agronomists, and the GreendaAI team. Track farmer cases, recommendations, and follow-ups to ensure advisory continuity and quality. Occasionally visit farms to validate or confirm diagnoses or meet with farmers to gain insights and build relationships. Maintain structured documentation of farmer interactions, agronomic decisions, and outcomes using tools such as Notion and internal dashboards. Support the standardization of advisory workflows, response protocols, and agronomic guidelines. Collaborate closely with the product team to communicate farmer needs, test new features, and ensure tools are practical for real farming conditions. Stay up to date on agronomy, pest and disease developments, regional best practices, and regulatory changes. Actively apply and promote IPM principles, balancing biological effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and farmer realities. Support the development of internal agronomic knowledge bases and reference materials. What We’re Looking For Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Crop Science, or a related field. 5+ years of professional experience advising farmers in Spain, ideally with solid experience in Spanish citrus production (our test crop and market) Hands-on experience with Integrated Pest Management (IPM), pest and disease monitoring, crop phenology, and economic thresholds (treatment timing). Strong understanding of evolving pesticide and active substance regulations, including withdrawals, restrictions, and transition strategies. Experience working with cooperatives, producer organizations, advisory services, or private consultancy. Comfortable using digital tools such as Notion, dashboards, and farm management platforms, or willing to learn. Ability to clearly and consistently document agronomic decisions and case histories. Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) and professional working proficiency in English. Trusted and credible presence when advising farmers, with the ability to explain changing recommendations clearly. Pragmatic, empathetic, and organized, able to manage multiple farmer cases simultaneously. Collaborative mindset and openness to working closely with product and technology teams.
