The Role As a member of The Nellie team, your job isn’t simply to pour drinks. You’re responsible for creating an atmosphere where every guest feels welcome, comfortable and looked after. You’ll be part bartender, part host and part local expert—someone who notices the little things, remembers regulars and helps create the kind of place people recommend to their friends. Key Responsibilities • Deliver warm, friendly and genuine customer service from the moment guests arrive until they leave., • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to consistently high standards., • Learn our drinks menu and confidently recommend beers, wines, cocktails and spirits., • Take orders accurately and process payments using the EPOS system., • Maintain excellent knowledge of current offers, events and what’s happening across The Nellie., • Keep the bar clean, organised and fully stocked throughout service., • Restock fridges, replenish ice, change kegs and monitor stock levels., • Help maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere at all times., • Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth service, especially during busy periods., • Follow Challenge 25 and all licensing laws., • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health & safety., • Complete opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, stock replenishment and cashing up where required. You’ll fit in well if you are: • Naturally friendly and enjoy talking to people., • Calm under pressure., • Reliable and punctual., • A genuine team player., • Comfortable working evenings and weekends., • Someone who notices the details and takes pride in your work., • Happy to learn about drinks, hospitality and great service. Previous bar or hospitality experience is welcome but isn’t essential—we can teach the skills. We can’t teach warmth, kindness and enthusiasm.
