Overview: We are looking for a passionate and qualified Early Years Practitioner / Room Leader to join a well-established nursery in North West London. The ideal candidate will be experienced in supporting early years development, leading activities, and working in line with the EYFS framework. Key Responsibilities: Act as a key worker, developing strong relationships with children and families. Support or lead room planning and structured learning activities. Observe and assess children’s development in accordance with EYFS guidelines. Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment. Uphold values of inclusion, safeguarding, and confidentiality at all times. Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to continuous improvement. Requirements: A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (e.g. NVQ3 or equivalent). Solid understanding of the EYFS framework. Experience in early years settings and key worker responsibilities. Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. A genuine passion for early childhood development. Safeguarding training and a commitment to child protection practices. Additional Information: This role is term-time only, meaning you will work during school/nursery term dates (approximately 38 weeks per year). Weekly working hours total 30 hours per week. Provide regular feedback to parents about their child’s progress, milestones, and daily activities. Address any concerns or queries from parents professionally and empathetically. Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality childcare services. Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and nursery events. Support the Nursery Manager and senior staff in maintaining smooth daily operations. Qualifications and Experience:Essential:Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent qualification. Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and early childhood development. Previous experience working in an early years setting. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols. Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
