We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Decluttering and Cleaning Support Worker. In this role, you will provide vital practical and emotional support to vulnerable adults in London, helping them transform their living spaces into safe, comfortable, and functional homes.
This is more than just a cleaning job. You will be working closely with individuals who may face challenges such as hoarding tendencies, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, or age-related frailty. Your patience, understanding, and respectful approach will be key to helping them regain control of their environments.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assisting clients with sensitive, step-by-step decluttering and organising.
- Undertaking deep cleaning and general household maintenance to improve living conditions.
- Building trust and maintaining a respectful, non-judgmental attitude toward clients and their belongings.
- Adhering strictly to health, safety, and infection control standards.
- Recognising and reporting any safeguarding concerns to ensure client well-being.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:
- Right to Work: Valid and proven right to work in the UK.
- DBS: A current, enhanced DBS check (or registered on the Update Service).
- Safeguarding: Certified training in Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults.
- Hygiene & Safety: Certified training in Infection Control and Hygiene.
Desirable Requirements (Nice to Have)
While not strictly mandatory, preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Experience: Prior experience working directly with vulnerable adults.
- Location: Based in or within easy commuting distance of London.
- Driving Licence: A full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Additional Training: Valid certifications in Manual Handling and/or First Aid.
